And Gabriel took the time to think. He stared long and hard into the ground in front of him, reading through his own thoughts and measuring his ability to stand up with all the weight he had put on his shoulders. It was a defining moment for him, truly. Back home, he would have had one person to talk to about his issues, and she wasn't good at understanding his problems. But this man, Lucas, had given Gabriel an insight to what he had been experiencing that the winged mutant never came across before.
"Thanks," Gabriel finally replied with a shrug and a shake of his head, "I think... I think I'd like to see what kind of trouble the X-Men get into. I'll have to let the babysitter know that I won't be home in awhile, though."
