Vincent walked into the common area, tossing his school bag on the couch, before noting Andrea's stillness. It was a subtle difference from her usual sitting-and-thinking, but he picked it up immediately.
"Andrea? You seem affected by something."
This was his usual way of trying to be more polite than simply blurting out 'What's wrong?'
