As far as Asleif was concerned, death was something to be steadfastly avoided and certainly not something to be embraced with open arms as her more warrior inclined siblings did.
She was much less inclined to lay down her life than they and in her more sober moments, it shamed her. She was not and would never be the hero her siblings were and she did not know what to make of that. Even now, her impulse was to run, to cast a spell and flee, to protect her own life.
"The Sorcerer Supreme of this realm didst once contest against Set, with the help of father, the Protector of the Universe, and a mere mortal, to little effect."
She bowed her head, forcing the words from her mouth. "I too, would show such courage."
