If Lucas is aware of the danger he's in, it doesn't show. He remains calm and collected and almost totally still, trusting in the X-Men as he extends his perceptions into the spirit realm.
"Earth Mother, Sky Father, these people have lost their way. They meet peace with violence, they meet calm with hatred. They claim to follow the natural path, but I think they have lost your path. They kill when they do not hunger. And they seek to force one of your blessed daughters to be something she does not will herself to be. I am your servant and child, and beg of you, please tell me how this may be undone, that they may feel how steady is the ground beneath their feet, unchanging. That they may see your light away from the fanaticism blinding their eyes. How may I undo this unholy rite?"
At the same time, with his mutant powers, he's reaching for Chris' mind to make sure she's alright, and so he can help her fight whatever changes they're trying to work upon her.
