Evan rolled over in bed, where he was warm and toasty and really didn't want to get up. But, he looked at the clock anyway and grumbled when he saw what time it was. He ran his hands through his hair, still feeling sore from the night before, then crawled on top of Lucius and kissed him deeply.

"Oi." Evan kissed him softly, then let out a sigh. "Could you drive me to school? I'm late."

"Done?" Lucius repeated, stopping where he was. Was Evan breaking up with him? He pulled away from the other boy. "That... fine," he said. "Just fine."

Lucius walked over to his counter, searching for the bag of coke he was pretty sure he'd left there. "I don't even need you. I'll be fine by myself."

Evan looked back at where Lucius was grabbing a bag of coke, his stomach twisting. He closed his eyes for a moment, then grabbed the bag from him and poured it into the sink before he went to leave again.

He turned and looked at him. "I loved you." He told him, then left the flat.

"I can't believe him." Narcissa was fuming, sitting beside Evan on the couch, filled with righteous anger on his behalf. Lucius had cheated on him. Her having to marry a gay man and losing all her dreams about having a husband who loved her and a perfect family was bad enough, but now her gay husband wasn't even going to stay faithful to his boyfriend? She ate a spoonful of ice cream, shaking her head and looking down at the chicken strips and chips Christina had made as comfort food. "What an arse."

Christina ran her fingers through Evan's hair, kissing his temple and sighing. "I'm sorry you're hurting so much right now, Ev."

Evan shook his head and pulled away from the both of them. "I know that we're supposed to be having girl time right now, but I'm really not up for this." He told them both.

He ran a hand through his hair. "I'm just... Can you two just leave me alone to wallow in my own self hate?"

Narcissa ate another spoonful of ice cream, pouting at Evan. "Can't we all just wallow together?" she asked him. "We can wallow together in silence if you want us to be quiet."

"No, if Evan wants to be alone, we should leave him alone," Christina said, shaking her head and getting up. She grabbed Narcissa's hand. "Come on, Cissa. We'll go to Starbucks and bring Evan back a frapp or something."

"I just don't feel like listening to Narcissa mope about this." Evan told them both with a frown, shaking his head. "She's making this out like he broke her heart or something."

He wiped at his eyes and shook his head. "Is this my fault?" He asked as he looked up at Christina.

"No," Christina said immediately, frowning and sitting next to Evan again so she could hug him. "Evan, of course it isn't. This is all on Lucius. Did he try and blame it on you? That's a dick move. This is him and his addiction, which was around a lot longer than you were. You can't blame yourself."

Narcissa knew Evan was the one who Lucius had hurt, but it still didn't feel very fair for him to single her out like that for being upset about Lucius having a drug relapse. She was the one who was going to have to marry him, unless she wanted to end up kicked out of the family like Sirius and Regulus and Andromeda. "I'm going to go home," she said, setting the ice cream down. "Maybe Evan just needs twin time right now. You can text me if you need anything." She left.

Evan watched Narcissa leave and sighed, pulling out his phone. He apologised to her, then looked back at Christina. He felt sick to his stomach. He closed his eyes for a moment, then fell back against the bed.

"He just..." He looked up at her. "He made it seem like the only reason he relapsed was because I was gone. I thought he would have texted me by now. He has't."

Christina frowned at that. "That's bull shit," she said, shaking her head. "This is not your fault, Evan. Lucius has family and friends and even a fiance he could have chosen to spend time with while we were in France. Tom managed to last two weeks."

She reached down to pet at his hair. "Instead, Lucius started using and he cheated on you. Unless he does a hell of a lot to make it up to you, he doesn't deserve you."

It had been a week and Evan had wallowed in his own self pity for long enough. He decided he needed to get back out. He was smiling at the boy he was dancing with at the club, grinding back against him.

"You are so hot." He whispered against his lips, then kissed him deeply as his fingers dipped into the boys denims.

Lucius felt terrible. He'd called his sponsor right after Evan had left him and gone cold turkey after that. He knew coming out to a club wasn't a good idea, but he couldn't be alone in his flat where everything reminded him of when Evan had been at his flat all the time anymore either.

Lucius rolled his eyes when some twink came over and tried to flirt with him, looking at the dance floor as he contemplated just going home and wallowing after all. That was when he spotted Evan. With some boy. His Evan. Lucius slammed his mostly full glass down on the bar and made a b-line through the crowd on the dance floor towards them, touching Evan's elbow. "Don't go with him."

Evan was having a good time. And then there was Lucius. He frowned at him and pulled his elbow away from him, shaking his head. He wasn't going to let him do this again.

"Fuck off." Evan told him as he pressed a little closer to the boy he was dancing with, trying to ignore that Lucius was there.

Lucius shook his head, touching Evan's arm again, leaning in close to his ear. "I'm going to get you back," he said. "Maybe not for a while, but I'm going to earn back, Evan. I made a huge mistake and I need to pay for it, but you don't have to sleep with someone to pay me back."

He touched the small of Evan's back. "I relapsed and then I tried to blame it on you. It wasn't you. It was my inability to be alone with myself. I'm sober right now. I'm going to get clean again. I called my sponsor and I'll hire a fucking sober companion of that's what it take to keep me on the right track to being a person who deserves your love because I love you and I've never loved anyone before."

Evan began to tear up at that. Lucius always had these charming and sweet ways of trying to make things up to him. And then he'd had to go and say he loved him.

He spared Lucius a glance before he pulled away from his dance partner all together, walking off towards the exit of the club. It was all he could do to not burst into tears.

Lucius gave the boy Evan had been dancing with a dirty look and then walked after Evan, grabbing his hand. "I'm sorry," he said, glad that they were somewhere he could hear himself think now.

"I don't expect you to take me back yet, but... I just want you to know that. That I'm sorry and that I'm working on everything. On being better for you because I love you just... a lot."

"All you do is ruin my life." Evan shook his head, looking at Lucius. "I came out tonight to have a good time. To find someone to make me happy."

He shook his head. "And all I managed to do was bump into you and have you chase away yet another person. You cheated on me, Lucius. I'm never going to be able to trust you again."

"You will," Lucius insisted, shaking his head. "I would never have cheated on you sober. Sober I know exactly how I feel. I'm not going to stray again and I'm not going to slip up and start taking drugs again."

He looked at Evan for a moment, then sighed. "I'm not going to badger you, though. I'll see you again. I'm in an okay place now. If you want to text me, I'll respond. If you need anything from me, I'll give it to you. No expectations of anything in return."

"You don't need me, remember?" Evan asked as he looked back at Lucius. "And I don't need you. I don't need anything from you. I don't want anything from you. Just leave me alone, Lucius."

"Thanks for taking me out." Evan told Mitchell, the boy he was dating. They'd been on two dates, so nothing was serious, but it was nice to be dating someone.

He sat down at the diner that they'd decided to go to and looked over the menu. Surely Lucius wouldn't find them at a diner.

"Yeah, of course," Mitchell said, smiling at Evan as he took a seat across from him. The diner wasn't much to look at, but the food was great. Mitchell wanted to impress Evan. He was hot and one of the most popular boys in school. "I was glad you were free tonight. They do great milkshakes here."

Lucius honestly wasn't stalking Evan. He'd hired a sober companion and he didn't like him very much most of the time. He was sallow and ugly and told depressing stories about how his father's addiction problems had effected his family or boring stories about studying chemistry at university. But Snape had pointed out that stalking was not a good way to prove to Evan that he was healthy again.

On the other hand, Snape liked to eat at cheap, crappy diners, and Lucius didn't want in his pants so it wasn't endearing like it had been with Evan. "Why do you like these places? I'm rich and I buy all our meals," Lucius pointed out as they walked in.

Evan smiled and took Mitchell's hand into his own, thumb brushing against the back of it slowly. "I'm glad I was free tonight too. I've really enjoyed the time we've had together." Even if they hadn't had sex yet. "What flavour should I get?"

"Because the food is good and it's not an outrageous price." Severus informed Lucius, frowning. "Why else would I want to come here?"

"Strawberry or chocolate-banana," Mitchell said, grinning when Evan took his hand. He squeezed Evan's hand gently. "I'm going to get chocolate-banana. It's amazing. I mean, definitely not for every day food, but really good. And they beer batter their chips before they fry them."

Lucius sighed. "I'll just get chicken strips," he said. "Places like this always --" He stopped when he spotted Evan, sitting with a boy and holding his hand. His heart seized up in his chest and Lucius had to grab on to Severus's arm to keep himself from walking up and tearing their hands apart. "We're not eating here," he said, turning away. "I can't -- Evan's here."

"That sounds really good. I think I want chocolate banana too." Evan smiled at Mitchell, then leaned in and brushed their lips together. He smiled. "You don't mind, do you?"

Severus looked around and then shook his head. "No. This is good for you." He told him, shaking his head. "You need to learn how to be in these situations."

"Not at all," Mitchell said, smiling back at Evan and then kissing him again, touching his cheek with his free hand. He looked up when the waitress came to take their drink orders, laughing softly. "Two chocolate-banana milkshakes, please. I think we're still deciding what we want to eat."

"Good for me?" Lucius repeated incredulously. He looked back just in time to see Evan and the boy kissing, clenching his fists at his side. "I don't know how to be. I want to punch that stupid kid in the face. What's the point of being sober if Evan's not going to take me back?"

Evan waited until the waitress was gone and grinned. "What if I want to eat you?" He asked him with a smirk, then kissed him again, resting a hand on Mitchell's thigh.

"If I read your file right, you were getting sober before you met him." Severus pointed out, shaking his head. "You need to learn how to be in a stressful situation without falling back into the drugs. And maybe if you were sober and less aggressive, he would want you. Or, if you'd not relapsed, he'd have never left you."

Mitchell laughed at that, glancing around the diner. He caught the eye of some blond sitting at the counter and blushed a little. "As much as I'd like it if we ate each other, I think the guy at the counter is on to us."

"He wouldn't have left me if I hadn't relapsed," Lucius said firmly, running a hand through his hair. "I cheated on him because I relapsed. That's why he left. I'm not an idiot. I know that. But I'm sober again. I'm going to be completely clean. I'm not even smoking pot anymore." He looked at Snape, then at then menu. "We should order."
