Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

Walden knew it was probably a little too soon for him to really be thinking about switching to a school closer to where Romey lived, but he was top of his class at home and he'd been invited to check out some more prestigious colleges than the one he was currently enrolled in. There was nothing wrong with going to London and checking out an open house, especially when it met he'd be able to surprise Romy with a visit and see if she was as into him as the texting and everything suggested.

He showed up at the college, glancing around at the boards they had set up talking about student success rates and how many people got into top ten schools, but was distracted by a familiar face. One he didn't really get along with, but they were looking at each other and it just seemed awkward not to say anything. Walden cleared his throat and walked over to Pyxis. "Hello."

Walden was going to continue to feel awkward as long as he was around Pyxis. He looked around at all the books that lined her room. "It's kind of a big deal. We're both seeing other people and I just... I don't know."

He looked down at Pyxis. "I read a lot of non-fiction, I guess. History and that kind of thing. Your room is really nice."

"It's not a big deal. We don't have to tell them about it." Pyxis told him with a shrug. "It was just kissing. We're drunk. Those kinds of things happen all the time."

She pointed to a shelf. "That's all my non-fiction. I'm fascinated by American presidents and Canadian Prime Ministers, so I have a lot of those kinds of books if you want to borrow one."

Walden was definitely not going to tell Romy he'd snogged Pyxis. She'd dump him and be right to do so. He'd deserve it. "I don't do it all the time," he said. "Romy is my first girlfriend, so I've never... I mean, I've hardly even kissed any girls."

He looked at the non-fiction shelf, smiling a little. "That sounds interesting. Maybe I will. I have lots of books about cats if you ever want to read about them."

"You should kiss more girls before you settle down." Pyxis pointed out, shaking her head. "You're sexy. A boy like you here in London will have girls all over you. You'll have to fight them off. Rider and Rooney already have to. You'll be getting all their run offs."

She smiled at him. "If all you have are books about cats, you are definitely taking some of mine home. Hell, I'll give them to you."

"I have more than just books about cats," Walden said, laughing. "I don't want to steal your books from you, but I'll borrow some of them. Next time I come down to see Romy I can give them back."

He ran his fingers through Pyxis's hair. "Let's not talk about me and girls. I don't want to kiss a lot of girls. I want to kiss the right girls."
