Romy had felt really guilty since Walden had come back from Spain. She'd missed hanging out with just Dudley, but she knew she couldn't just hang around the flat all day. And she kind of missed her friends, if she was being honest. So much had gone on and she'd not been around them for a while. So, she'd sat up a lunch date after reading through all her texts from Pansy.

She smiled as she took a seat at the table with Draco, kissing his cheek. "I have missed you. I want to know every thing that's gone on in your life." She told him, slipping her hand into his.

Draco was happy to have someone to talk to, even if it was Romy. She wasn't so bad. They were friends. She just wasn't Pansy. It would have been nice if Romy had decided to have time for him when he was having his crisis, but still. At least she was around. "Pansy's not talking to me," he said. "I'm assuming she's still talking to you and you know that."

He took a sip of his drink, smiling at Romy. "It's good to see you too. I assume you heard about Merlin getting kicked out of his home too? I haven't had much time for anyone else recently. How are you?"

"I had heard about Merlin, but he's never been overly fond of me." Romy admitted. "He likes me more than he likes Pansy, but still. Is he okay and all that? I assume that he is. Pansy said that he'd moved into a flat."

She took a sip of the water she'd ordered. "I'm sorry I haven't been around as much. I've got this boyfriend now. And I've been staying with him. He lives with Pyxis and his best mate." She reached over and took Draco's hand. "Pansy is coming today. She should be on her way."

"My dad got him a flat and Merlin found himself a job at a fast food place, but my father found him a better job selling suits. Thank God. Fast food made him grumpy all the time," Draco said.

"You're going to have to tell me more about your boyfriend. You already know mine," Draco said, smiling at Romy. His smile faded when she told him Pansy was coming. "She hates me right now. Does she know I'm going to be here?"

"I'll tell you more about him later. Right now, it's not important." Romy told him. "His name is Walden and he's my Step-Dad's son. But, he lived in Surrey."

She smiled softly at Draco and shook her head. "Pansy never hates you, Draco. She loves you so much. That's why she was upset." She squeezed his hand. "But, no. She doesn't know you'll be here. I'm going to fix this stupid fight between the two of you."

"God, this is going to be awful," Draco said, sighing and looking around for their server. "I should get something with alcohol in it. I don't know what I was thinking, getting tea."

He ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't think Pansy is going to talk to me as long as I'm dating Merlin, Romy." Draco had come close to breaking up with Merlin, but Merlin was being nice to him again so now Draco sort of felt like things were the way they were supposed to be.

"I don't think the problem is you dating Merlin." Romy shook her head, fiddling with her water glass. "I think the problem was that you let him talk to her like she's nothing. Make fun of her. All that."

"Among other things." Pansy said as she approached the table. "Should I leave, Draco?"

Draco looked up at Pansy and sighed. He really wished he'd gotten something stronger than tea to drink. Pansy was going to yell at him for a bit and then leave again.

"Not on my account," he said. "I've been texting you so much. You must know that I miss you. Even if you haven't been replying."

"I don't feel that you deserved a reply." Pansy pointed out as she looked back at him. "You didn't want to put me first. Why would I answer your texts?" She ordered a salad and some water.

"The two of you seriously need to stop." Romy told them both. "It's like the world shifted or something. Pyxis and I find harmony in friendship and the two of you fall out over a boy."

"You're getting along with Pyxis now?" Draco gave Romy an odd look. That deserved further explanation when he and Pansy weren't still at odds with each other. "We didn't fall out over a boy. That makes it seem like we both want him or something."

He looked at Pansy. "I know Merlin can be an arse sometimes, Pansy. I'm sorry. He got kicked out of his house. His whole world was pulled out from under him and it was my fault. I had to put him first."

"No. Merlin got kicked out of his house for being gay." Pansy informed Draco, frowning. "Not because of you. Because he was gay. It doesn't matter if he came out because of you. He was always going to be gay."

She shook her head. "I'm not going to sit here and listen to you talk about how I should just ignore the way that your boyfriend makes me feel. I'm better than that and if you don't see that, I don't need you as a friend."

"That's not what I'm saying, Pansy. I know how Merlin can be. I almost split up with him because of it. I'm just telling you when I acted the way I did," Draco said, shaking his head. "I put him first because of everything he'd just been through."

He reached out and touched her hand. "But I'm not going to make excuses for him anymore. He's got the flat and my father got him a much better job. He's not under as much stress now."

Pansy snatched her hand back from Draco, picking up her phone to look down at it. She texted Theodore a non-sense text just to seem like she was doing something more important. "Save your apologies for when you actually mean them."

Romy sighed softly. "When did the two of you become such bitches?" She asked. "The two of you love each other. Draco, you're being an ignorant slut and trying to take up for your boyfriend who hurt Pansy deeply. You shouldn't be trying to make him seem like such a wonderful boy who was going through a bad time. He's been hurting Pansy since we were children."

"I don't have any control over the way Merlin talks to her," Draco protested, turning to look at Romy. "Merlin is going through a lot right now. He's really stressed and he'd a bitch to everyone, including me. I just said I'd stand up for her."

He looked at Pansy and frowned at her, texting whoever she was texting. "Why can't you and Merlin just fight your fight without pulling me into the middle of it? I love you both. And even when I texted you saying it was really important and I really needed to talk to you, you wouldn't text me back. At least Merlin apologises for acting like a dick."

"Thank you for inviting me to lunch, Romy. It was very nice of you." Pansy told her as she pushed her chair back and got up from the table. She wasn't being a dick. She was the furthest thing from a dick. "Please make sure to tell Draco he can go fuck himself."

She started to walk away and paused when she saw Merlin and Lucius together at a table. "Your boyfriend is here." She informed him. "With your father."

"My father's been helping Merlin get back on his feet. So what?" Draco asked, scowling at Pansy. He wasn't in the best mood. She'd just told him to go fuck himself. Merlin had told him he had to work today, but probably his father was setting Merlin up with something for work.

Draco glanced in the direction Pansy was looking, at his father and Merlin tucked away in the back corner of the restaurant, almost out of sight of everyone else. It kind of looked like his father was holding Merlin's hand, but maybe Merlin just needed an older gay to talk to to be his mentor or something. Draco had liked talking to Museum Charlie. It had been helpful.

Only Museum Charlie definitely hadn't reached up and pushed his hair from his eyes. And the look Merlin was giving his father was a look Draco had previously been pretty certain only he got to see. Draco watched his father lean in and kiss Merlin and Merlin reach up to pull his father closer and felt the bottom drop out of his stomach.

Pansy was unsure of what she was seeing, really. It almost seemed surreal. But, she knew what she had to do. She turned around and wrapped her arms around Draco, hugging him for a long moment. Even if she was still upset with him, no amount of sadness she felt could make up for what Draco was going to feel.

"Stop looking." She whispered. "Don't make a scene, Draco. Take a picture with your phone and walk away."

Draco didn't want to take a picture with his phone. He wanted to walk away and find a way to forget he'd seen them together. To go back to really believing that Merlin loved him and they were going to be together for a long time and that his father... that his father cared about him too, even if he did think he was stupid and useless.

He felt frozen in place, but following Pansy's instructions seemed easiest. Draco fumbled his phone out of his pocket, taking a picture of Merlin and his father in the corner and then pulling away from Pansy, standing up. "I have to go," he said, hands trembling as he tucked his phone away again. "I can't -- I'm sorry, Romy. Pans. I just... I don't know what to do."

"We're coming with you." Romy told Draco as she stood up. "We can all come back to my house and sit in my room and drink booze all day. No chance of running into anyone you don't want to see at my place."

Pansy thought about that for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah. We should go there, Draco. Macnairs always get the best booze."

Draco looked between the two of them and then nodded. He was just glad Pansy was on his side again for now. He needed her and he didn't know how to tell her that he needed her. "Okay," he agreed. "Okay, let's do that."

He took out his wallet, pulling out enough money to cover their food and then took Pansy and Romy's hands in his, walking out of the restaurant with them before his father or Merlin could see he was there. "Can we take a cab?" he asked, looking between the two of them.

Romy carried in a bunch of bottles of booze for them and several boxes of chocolates. Rooney was behind her, carrying a few more things, like two roll away beds that were probably nicer than the one he slept on personally. "Thank you, Rooney." She smiled and shoved him out of the room.

"Thanks." Pansy took the bottles as she sat beside Draco, kissing his cheek. "Romy and I have decided we're camping out here for a few days until school starts. I'll go to your house to get you some clothes to wear. You can't go home."

Draco looked up from where he was sitting on Romy's bed, feeling miserable as he went from looking at pictures of Merlin and his father kissing to pictures he'd taken of Merlin looking like he was perfectly happy just being with Draco. "I guess I can't," he agreed. "My father's at home."

He reached for one of the bottles, unscrewing the cap and taking a long pull from it. His boyfriend had cheated on him with his father. His father had probably fucked his boyfriend. And obviously neither of them had spared much thought for how it was going to make him feel. Draco took another swig from the bottle. "I really thought Merlin loved me."

"I've never thought Merlin was capable of love." Pansy told him as she pulled him back so that he was close to her. She kissed his temple. "But, I thought he loved you too, Draco. I really did. Despite everything."

Romy settled on the foot of the bed and shook her head. "I don't think this means that he doesn't love you. Maybe he feels obligated to sleep with your father because of all that he's doing for him."

"Does he feel obligated to lie to me about it and look at my father like he can't wait to get his clothes off too?" Draco asked, looking at Romy. He could feel himself starting to break down. It wasn't fair. Things had been looking better.

"He's been acting weird," Draco admitted. "He was so... Nothing I did was right or good enough and then when we were having sex he was weird about it. I kept trying to be... But I was busy assuming I was still the only person he'd been with and obviously that's not true."

Pansy sat back on the bed and pulled Draco closer, petting at his hair. He needed her right now. She kissed his forehead, caressing his blond locks to try and calm him down. What he was going through was awful. "I'm not sure I want to know about your sex life, but I'm willing to listen to it anyway."

Romy felt awful. Was this what Walden would feel like if he knew she was cheating on him with Rider and Dudley? But, only Dudley now. She chewed at her lip. "I'm sure he doesn't want to hurt you, Draco. I'm sure he never meant for it to be this way."
