Draco wasn't looking forward to this. He hadn't called ahead or answered any calls or texts from Merlin or given him any indication that he still knew the other boy was alive. Pansy had covered for him with his mother and he'd been sleeping on the cot in Romy's room, as planned. Except for the drunken detour to Museum Charlie's flat. But it was the day before the start of school and he needed to do this before they were thrust into college together.

He took a deep breath, knocking on Merlin's door. He'd rehearsed a big speech in his head over and over on the way here. He was going to be good about this. Calm and righteous and he wouldn't cry or yell and he'd leave Merlin feeling sorry that he'd fucked everything up. Draco had it all planned out, and then his father opened the door. They blinked at each other in surprise for a moment. Draco could feel his resolve crumbling and his speech leaving his head. "I -- I want to see Merlin."

Lucius felt awkward, looking down at his son. He had to know about him and Evan splitting by now. "Of course," he said. "I've been --" He cleared his throat. "I was just stepping out for a moment. Merlin!" Lucius looked over his shoulder as he slipped his feet into a pair of shoes. "Draco's here to see you!"

Charlie laughed at that and shrugged. "I'm a bit into rock music and stuff like that. David Bowie. Stooges. Stuff like that." He explained. "All my idols are into this look. And it gets me some stares."

Pansy arched a brow at that. "Couldn't be very long. I'd say a couple of weeks or so. Since he and Merlin have had problems." She told him, then snorted. "I don't know anyone more bossy than Draco. He has to have everything his way or no way."

Draco knew who David Bowie was, but he had no ides about the Stooges. He'd have to look it up if he remembered in the morning. "They're good stares," he pointed out, looking around the club. "Appreciative stares." Which was of course the cue for someone to walk over and attempt hitting on Charlie.

Zach had been eying the ginger in his leather trousers for a while now, trying to determine if the blond he was with was his boyfriend, but there hadn't been nearly enough touching so he figured he was safe. He walked over, grinning at him. "Hey," he said. "Can I buy you another beer?"

Bill hummed at that, then shrugged. "Well, I hope they're both suitably careful about it. Charlie's a few weeks out of a relationship of his own and he hasn't really done the rebound thing yet either. But maybe that's why they like each other." He took a sip of his beer when it arrived, handing Pansy her soda. "Are you interesting in archeology and Egyptology, or were you just taking the class for the credit?"

Charlie looked up at Zach, a blond boy in clothes that were even tighter than most of the other boys in the club. Which was saying something. But, they looked kind of nice on him. He smiled. "I'm not drinking much tonight, but you can offer me a dance instead."

Pansy shook her head. "Merlin, Draco's boyfriend, cheated on him with Draco's father. It's a whole big mess. I don't like Merlin anyway." She explained, eyeing Bill. "I wasn't interested in it until I took your class."
