The first day of school. Pansy knew that Draco wasn't feeling up to it, but she wanted to get him out and about. And he couldn't skip the first day of school. It was kind of required. She'd managed to get him into the car, which was a big step for him. Even if she knew that he was going through a lot, she still thought he was being a baby.

"You're not going to bother me being around. Honestly, it gets a bit lonely living by yourself." Charlie admitted as he looked back at Draco. He smiled softly at him and pushed himself off his desk.

"Think about it. You can stay tonight." Charlie told him. "I'll make you dinner. And breakfast before you go to school in the morning. And we can do whatever you want."

Draco didn't really have to think about it. He already knew it was something he wanted. He just had to find a way to get his mother to agree with him moving in with a strange man.

"All right," he agreed, smiling at Charlie. "Since you're offering me two meals along with the room and I get to choose our activities for the night. That's a bit dangerous, don't you think?"

Draco still had very clear memories of Charlie in those leather trousers he'd worn to the club. And Charlie changing into the leather trousers. Charlie walking around shirtless. Charlie was putting some finishing touches on dinner and watching Draco sitting at his kitchen table. He smiled at him for a moment, then pulled out the spare key he'd had made for him.

"Just in case you decide to stay." He told him, placing it on the table. He pulled the food out of the oven and arranged it on plates, then sat down at the table. "Given it any thought?"

Draco had thought a lot about it when he'd gone home to get his things. He still needed his mother to agree to him staying somewhere else, but it was really nice watching Charlie cook as he finished his homework. His flat was comfy and Draco didn't need to worry about his father -- or worse, Merlin -- coming in and trying to talk to him.

He could definitely see why Merlin had wanted him to learn how to cook. Not that Charlie was his boyfriend, obviously, but it felt really comfortable. Homey. It would be very, very easy to get used to. Draco put his book away and smiled at Charlie. "I want to," he said. "It would be the perfect arrangement for me. My father and Merlin wouldn't be able to talk to me unless I wanted to talk to them. I just have to convince my mother."

Draco was not completely sure that letting his mother see Charlie was a good idea. If she saw Charlie, she would definitely know Draco was attracted to him. And if Charlie kept telling Draco he wanted to help him be happy, Charlie was going to discover it pretty soon too.

He looked down at his food, picking up his fork and knife. "That might be a good idea," Draco agreed. "She'd see that you weren't a serial killer or cannibal or something." Draco are some of his steak and made a pleased sound. "I hope you're not a cannibal. This is really good. She'd definitely be impressed. Mum tries to bake sometimes, but she's awful at it. Thor's the only one who's any good at pretending her cooking is decent. Thor is her boyfriend."

"I'm not a cannibal. I promise." Charlie ate another bite and looked Draco over carefully. He was attracted to him as well and he was doing his best not to try and shag him over the table. He bit down on his bottom lip for a moment.

Charlie petting him was a bad idea. Draco had danced with Neville and kissed him a bit, but he hadn't shagged him and he really needed to shag someone who wasn't Merlin so he stopped thinking about Merlin kissing him at school earlier and whether maybe he should actually consider taking him back. Merlin loved him.

Saying yes would be a terrible idea. Draco watched Charlie for a moment, playing with his wine glass. Friends could take showers and very probably shag each other, right? Even if that was the way he and Merlin had started and he and Merlin had ended up being a terrible mistake, there was precedent.

Draco followed Charlie down the hall, undoing the buttons on his shirt and shrugging it off as he followed him, eyes mostly on Charlie's bum. He should have just snogged Charlie when he was drunk. It would have made this feel less nerve-wracking.
