Regulus had made sure that his room was clean and smelled like the chocolate biscuits he'd baked for he and Remus to have while they had their discussion. He wanted everything to be perfect this time. And since Sirius had fucked off for the night, everything would work out perfectly.

He smiled to himself and waited for Remus to come to his room. He could make Remus like him if he tried hard enough.

"I want to be liked too. I try really hard to be liked." Regulus couldn't believe that he was admitting it. Remus must have had that effect on him. The need to talk about his problems, even though he was trying to impress the other boy.

"I mean, I don't go out of my way to do things if I think that I'm going to get hurt by them." Except for in this situation, which he was almost positive he'd get hurt. "I'm kind to everyone, but I have other obligations. I can't just run around."

He stood up. "I should get you something to drink. What can I get for you?"

"I didn't mean it like that, Regulus," Remus said, getting to his feet too. "You and Sirius are different, you know? He's an extrovert. You're an introvert. And you have self-control. Just... milk, maybe? The biscuits are great."

He looked at the shelved lining the room. "I'll snood through your library while you're gone. See if there's something I want to borrow."

Regulus nodded and disappeared downstairs, dodging his mother. Even if he was doing the best he could to take care of the family, he still recongnized that his mother was batshit insane and mean. Also abusive.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, fixing a glass of milk. Maybe Remus didn't like anything about him. Maybe he fancied Sirius. That thought hurt him. He sighed and carried the milk upstairs to Remus. "Here you go."

Remus was left feeling unsure of what, exactly, Regulus thought of him and his comments about Sirius. Even if Sirius hadn't told Regulus that he and Remus were maybe dating now, Regulus knew Sirius was one of Remus's best friends. Of course Remus could see the best in him.

He plucked a book off the shelf at random and a couple magazines fell out from between the pages. Remus frowned, bending to pick them up, and then frozen when he realized what the magazines were. A man with his hands down the front of his sheer cotton briefs posed on the cover of one, and on the other two very attractive men stared into each other's eyes like they were about to star snogging. Remus stuffed them back into the book and shoved it onto the shelf again, picking up a novel at random. He almost jumped when Regulus came back into the room.

"You -- hey," he said. He put the novel back onto the shelf, trying not to think about Regulus's secret gay porn and the fact that it probably meant Regulus had a big secret he was hiding. "Thanks."

	Regulus smiled at Remus and shrugged. "Not a big deal. Just some milk." He gave Remus an odd look, wondering why he was looking at him that way, then shrugged it off and sat back on the bean bag chair. "So.." He smiled. Remus sat again, holding his glass of milk. "I..." Did you bring up that you'd accidentally seen someone's gay porn stash? Probably not. He laughed, feeling uncomfortable. "I didn't get much of a chance to look."

He took a sip of his milk and then reached for another biscuit. "So do you want to tell me more about your lead character, maybe? Does he have any secrets?"

"Secrets?" Regulus asked as he looked back at Remus. He thought about it for a moment, then shook his head. "I mean, I'm sure he has them." He tapped his fingers against his knee.

"I'm not sure if it would be productive for the story to write about them." Regulus admitted. "They're secrets that he can't tell his family because he doesn't want to be a disappointment. Not like his brother."

"You don't think that might add some character depth?" Remus asked. "The audience knowing that he's keeping something locked up for the good of his family, because he thinks it's not okay to be honest about it?"

Regulus was gay. He was definitely gay and Remus wasn't sure what to do about it. If he should say another. "But if he's not ready, I mean, that's okay. There are people who wouldn't care, even if his family would."

Regulus looked back at Remus for a moment, wondering what he was on about. If he knew something. Could you tell that he was gay just by looking at him? He worked so hard at hiding it. Could Remus see right through him?

He cleared his throat. "Did you bring anything else for me to read?" He asked quietly, then reached over to the box he kept his stuff in, pulling out another story about a boy who was gay and disowned by his family.

"Yeah," Remus said. He fished his story out of his bag, handing it to Regulus. "It's sort of gay-themed. I hope you don't mind." He watched Regulus's face to see if he reacted at all. "Most of my stories are, though. The werewolf one kind of was."

He smiled at Regulus. He looked so tense. Remus just wanted to relax him now. "You should have a biscuit. You did a great job on them. They're really good."

	Regulus looked down at the story in his hands and shook his head. "No. That's fine." He told him, then ran a hand through his hair, trying to calm himself down. He didn't want Remus to know he was gay, but he wanted him to at the same time. "Mine is too." Regulus nodded. "It's about a prince who is gay and can't tell his family." (Reply to this)(Parent)
