Regulus had made sure that his room was clean and smelled like the chocolate biscuits he'd baked for he and Remus to have while they had their discussion. He wanted everything to be perfect this time. And since Sirius had fucked off for the night, everything would work out perfectly.

He smiled to himself and waited for Remus to come to his room. He could make Remus like him if he tried hard enough.

	Regulus looked back at Remus for a moment, then felt himself start to tear up. He looked away from Remus for a moment, reaching up to wipe at his eyes where the other boy couldn't see. Remus frowned. He thought he'd had enough biscuits. He reached out, touching Regulus's arm, and turned the other boy to face him. "Regulus, I wasn't saying that to upset you. I just don't want you to wake up one day and regret your decisions."

He hesitated for a moment, remembering the hand holding at the bookstore and how easily Regulus had been chased away by Sirius at the party. Remus leaned in and brushed their lips together.

	Regulus was a bit shocked by the kiss. It was so sudden and unexpected and Remus's lips were soft and inviting. He leaned into the kiss a little, reaching up to touch Remus's cheek. 	Regulus was like a deer. Completely skittish of everything going on. Remus just wanted to make him relax and feel... just... okay with it all. With himself. Regulus's breath caught in his throat when Remus kissed him again, this time even closer than he had been before. He let his eyes close as he pressed a little closer, still feeling tense, but kissing him back.

It felt good to be with him. To have another boy kissing him, especially because it was Remus. The boy whom he fancied so much. He rested a hand on Remus' waist, breaking the kiss. "I'm not- I don't-"

	"I know you don't want to tell anyone about it," Remus promised, keeping his voice soft. "I won't let anybody know." He smiled, reaching up to tuck a bit of Regulus's hair behind his ear. 	Regulus looked back at Remus sadly, then felt himself start to break down. He was crying so hard he couldn't remember the last time he had cried like this. Regulus felt so upset by that. That Sirius and Remus were something that couldn't be described, but that they'd kissed. Now Remus would want to be with Sirius forever and forget that he existed. That's how it always worked out.

"He's so wrong for you." Regulus whispered and then shook his head. "Why are you kissing me if you're with my brother? As pity? You feel sorry for the little gay boy who can't tell anyone?"

"No, Regulus." Remus frowned a little at that. "I like you a lot. It's confusing for me too, all right? Until about twenty minutes ago I didn't think you were gay, so how well we get on and all the things we have in common were only relevant to our friendship."

He pulled back, sitting on Regulus's bed. "It's not pity," Remus said firmly, but I shouldn't be kissing you anyway. It's not right."

He pushed him back against his pillows, fingers brushing against his cheek. Feeling a little nervous, he pressed against him firmly and deepened the kiss. This was his only chance. 	Remus really wasn't expecting the kiss, but he wasn't going to push Regulus away. Not when the other boy was so nervous and vulnerable. He kissed him back, wrapping his arms around him and pulling him close. Remus's hand slid down Regulus's back, resting just above the other boy's arse. He made a soft noise against his lips.
