Dudley's life was going good. Walden was still a bit depressed, which sucked because he was Dudley's best mate, but Walden was carrying on with his life and Romy had almost convinced him to start dating. Dudley had gotten into some pretty decent universities. Life was good.

Especially since he had a sweet, pretty girlfriend who'd made him a special dinner to celebrate his three acceptance letters. "I'm thinking I'll go to Greenwich," Dudley said. "It's in London so we'll still be close. Chichester and Southampton Solent aren't that far away either. Just a bit of a train journey."

Walden looked down at the fat man calling them the Macnairs, frowning a bit. "I'm Walden Macnair," he said. "This is Rabastan Lestrange." Just because he'd grown up denying he was gay and still didn't like to make a big deal out of it didn't mean he was going to let some prick make heteronormative assumptions about them. "You must be the Dursleys."

Petunia walked over to where Vernon was, holding her hand out to the smaller man. He was obviously the wife, right? "It's nice to meet Romy's parents. She's such a sweet girl."

Rabastan took Petunia's hand and shook it. "Thank you. We did our best to raise her right." He looked at Vernon. "Walden and I aren't married. The law wasn't passed when we were younger and now we're not sure what the point is."

Vernon cleared his throat. "I'm sorry for my assumption. We thought Romy's last name was Macnair."

Romy looked at Dudley when he came into the kitchen. "What's the atmosphere out there?" She asked, feeling a little panicked again. "Can you put the potatoes on the table?"

"She's a Lestrange," Walden said firmly, glancing between the two of them. No wonder Dudley was such an odd looking kid. His father was a bowling ball and his mother was a giraffe.

Petunia wasn't sure how she felt about Romy's other father. Wasn't it enough that they were gay without one of them having to look like a thug too? "Well, she's a very talented cook."

"It's fine," Dudley lied. "Everything is going to be fine." He opened the bottle of wine, pouring three glasses and then getting Walden's beer our of the fridge. "Of course I can. Do you want me to tell them to sit for dinner?" he asked, picking up the bowl of potatoes.

"She gets that from my family. Lestranges are very talented at cooking." Rabastan replied. "My son Thoreau is even better at it than Romy is. He wants to go to culinary school."

"Yes. If you would." Romy looked back at Dudley. "Just remember. You promised to love me and marry me no matter what my family says or does."
