Draco was sitting in the living room of his and Merlin's new house, staring at the two letters that had come in the mail. They weren't for him, but Merlin wasn't home from work yet and not knowing what they said was driving him crazy. He pulled out his phone, texting to check that he was at least on his way home. Draco wanted to open them. One was from University College London and the other was from Cambridge. They were even the same thickness so Draco couldn't speculate their contents based on that. It was frustrating.

He got to his feet, walking over to the cupboard Arnie and Tullah had given them so he could pull out some of the booze they kept hidden in it. Either way, they'd need a drink. Accepted or rejected. Draco wasn't even sure which school he hoped her. UCL was great. It had a great law program. It was in London. Cambridge was Cambridge and he knew his parents expected him to do the Oxbridge thing. Draco just... had to try and not be selfish when Merlin opened his letters, even if being selfish was his first instinct.

Draco kissed Merlin back, trying not to think about how disappointed his parents would be if he didn't do Oxbridge. Oxford wasn't that far away. He could probably... Well, if he got into a closer school that was just as good, like UCL, everyone would understand. "I love you too."

Merlin was going to be starting law school soon and Draco had decided the appropriate thing to do was throw him a surprise party. They had a whole house now. Arnie had promised to keep Merlin at work until the right time and then drive him over. Tullah had come over to help Draco get things together, along with Draco's mother and Lavinia. Pansy had shown up and Draco had fed her chocolates. Now they were waiting in the living room with the lights off for Merlin to arrive.

Theodore wasn't entirely sure Merlin was a surprise party sort of person, but he probably was a "look at the cute thing my boyfriend did for me" kind of person so there was that. He'd brought him a good bottle of whiskey. Theo wrapped his arm around Pansy, kissing her neck. "It's good of you to support the two of them like this. Very sexy."

"You think I'm sexy?" Pansy asked as she looked Theodore over, pressing close to him. They still hadn't had sex, but they were getting close to it. She kissed him softly and bit his bottom lip.

Merlin smiled at Arnie as they drove down the street to his new house. "Thanks for driving me home tonight. The bus gets a little creepy at night. I should buy a car now that we're not in the city."

"Very sexy," Theodore promised, leaning down and kissing Pansy firmly on the mouth. He smiled against his lips. "My parents are out of town this weekend, you know. You could come over."

Arnie shook his head. "It's no trouble at all," he said, driving up Merlin's street and stopping in front of the house he and Draco shared. "You save your money up for whatever you need most. I don't mind making sure you get home safe." He switched the car off. "Do you mind if I use your loo before I head back?"

Pansy smiled at that and ran a hand up his chest. "I think I'd like that, coming to your house for the weekend. It would be very nice." She kissed him again, then looked at the door. "He should be here soon."

"No. I don't mind at all." Merlin smiled at Arnie as he got out of the car. "Draco will probably be happy to see you and show off the house anyway. He's very happy about it." He led him up the sidewalk and up to the house, opening the door.

When Merlin opened the door Draco flicked the lights on and everyone cried out "Surprise!" Draco laughed as he worked his way to the front of the crowd, leaning in and giving Merlin a kiss. "Welcome home," he said. "We're having a party to celebrate you starting law school soon."

Theo shouted surprise at Merlin along with everyone else, then looked down at Pansy and grinned. "I hoped you'd say yes. I have flowers and cheesecake waiting at home for you, just in case you did."

	Merlin jumped a bit when everyone shouted surprise, then laughed and kissed Draco again. "You bitch." He whispered, then turned and looked at Arnie. "You were in on this, weren't you?" He asked, then hugged the older man. Pansy smiled at Theodore. "We can skip out on the party early." She promised him, then walked over to Draco and held onto his arm. 	Arnie laughed and patted Merlin on the back. "I was," he said. "Tullah is here too. She helped Draco get all the food ready for the party. We thought you deserved a celebration. 	"Thank you." Merlin laughed and patted the man's shoulder, then turned back to Draco. "I should kill you. You know how I feel about being surprised." He kissed him again. "Hello, Pansy." Draco gave Merlin a smug smile. "You can't kill me. I have too many witnesses. You can punish me after they all leave if you really want to." He leaned in and kissed Merlin again, then looked down at Pansy, raising an eyebrow.

"Tonight?" he repeated, looking around the party for Theodore. "Well, if you have to leave, that's a good reason. I won't stop you, Pans." He kissed her forehead. "Be careful. Make sure he's a gentleman about it."

	"Theodore is always a gentleman. It's in his blood." Merlin promised Pansy and Draco, then watched as she walked back over to Theodore. He smiled down at Draco and kissed him again, then heard a knock at the door. "See who that is." Merlin told him. "I'll go say thank you to your mother and my sister." Draco nodded, squeezing Merlin's arm and letting him go. "Mum brought some china over because she thinks we're old women. Lavinia says she might start sleeping in our spare room. Please kick her out."

He walked to the front door, hoping his mother hadn't invited Evan and Lucius or something. Evan was fine, obviously, but Draco didn't want Lucius around. Draco pulled the door open and froze, staring at Merlin's father. "You..." He pulled the door shut a little more, trying to shield Tom from seeing into their house. "What are you doing here?"

Merlin walked over to his sister and Draco's mother, smiling at the both of them. "What's this I hear about you sleeping in our guest room?" He asked with a laugh.

To be honest, Tom wasn't sure what he was doing there, but he knew he had to try and make it right with his son. He was holding a house warming present, a popcorn machine, and another present for Merlin for getting into Uni. "I'm here to see my son. I have these gifts for him."
