Draco was sitting in the living room of his and Merlin's new house, staring at the two letters that had come in the mail. They weren't for him, but Merlin wasn't home from work yet and not knowing what they said was driving him crazy. He pulled out his phone, texting to check that he was at least on his way home. Draco wanted to open them. One was from University College London and the other was from Cambridge. They were even the same thickness so Draco couldn't speculate their contents based on that. It was frustrating.

He got to his feet, walking over to the cupboard Arnie and Tullah had given them so he could pull out some of the booze they kept hidden in it. Either way, they'd need a drink. Accepted or rejected. Draco wasn't even sure which school he hoped her. UCL was great. It had a great law program. It was in London. Cambridge was Cambridge and he knew his parents expected him to do the Oxbridge thing. Draco just... had to try and not be selfish when Merlin opened his letters, even if being selfish was his first instinct.

Merlin smiled at that and nodded. "I'm sure that Draco will eventually get used to it. Especially when the baby is born." He glanced at the cupboard they'd brought home. "Arnie and Tullah gave us that cupboard. We can put the tea set in it."

Tom nodded and looked back at Draco. "You're right. I want to talk to him." He told him, then walked over to his son. "Hello."

Draco wanted to make sure Merlin was okay. He followed Tom over to where Merlin was standing with his mother and Lavinia, reaching out and taking the other boy's hand in his. "Your father found out about the party, somehow."

Lavinia may have said she was going to a house warming at Draco and Merlin's new place, but she hadn't thought her father was actually paying any attention to her. "I think I told him," she admitted.

Merlin looked up at his father for a moment. He didn't know how he was supposed to feel like this. Was his father holding presents? What was he supposed to say?

"I got you these." Tom told Merlin, holding them out to him. When Merlin didn't take them, he held them out to Draco. "One is a housewarming present." The other was a very nice, leather briefcase with Merlin's initials etched into the buckle.

Draco took the presents from Tom, glancing at Merlin to try and determine if he should keep holding on to the presents or not. He looked back at Tom. "You can't just give him things and expect him to forgive you for throwing him out," Draco informed Tom. "That's not good enough. I'm not even sure apologizing is enough, but the least you could do is try."

He shifted the presents around in his arms. "You could at least try and admit that you made a mistake."

Tom looked at his son. Admitting that you were sorry and that you were wrong were hard enough, but for Tom, they were even harder. How did he even begin to apologise to the boy? He sighed. "I'm sorry, Merlin. I was... I was wrong. It wasn't right of me to throw you out of the house and-"

Merlin hit his father hard in the face, then shook out his hand. "Forgiven." He told him, then looked at the gifts. "Get my mother."

Draco stared at Merlin for a moment, then put the presents down and went to find Christina. "Christina?" He touched her elbow. "Tom is here. He apologized to Merlin and Merlin punched him. You should probably come over."

Tom was here? Christina looked over at where Tom and Merlin were standing, moving ahead of Draco so she could talk to both of them. "Tom. Draco just told me you came to apologise."

	"Our son accepted my apology right after he punched me." Tom looked down at Christina. She was so beautiful and he missed her so much. "Please come home, Chris. I need you to come home." Christina did miss Tom. It had been a year and, even if she hated the way he'd treated Merlin, she missed him. "I'm glad he punched you. You deserved it." She leaned up and kissed Tom for a long moment. "I've missed you so much."

Draco watched Merlin's parents kissing for a moment, then wrinkled his nose and looked back at Merlin. "At least your parents are getting back together, I guess."

	Tom had been a very broken man since Christina had left him over a year ago. He looked down at her, tears filling his eyes. "I've missed you more. I need you." Merlin was busy staring at his father. Christina kissed at Tom's cheeks, trying to chase his tears away. "You have me now, Tom. We can be a family again." She wrapped her arms around his neck, petting at his hair. "I want to come home and sleep in our bed again. I want to be with you, Tom. I'm your wife."

Draco glanced at Tom and nodded. "He is," he agreed. "He's the one who screwed your family up. He should be crying about it. He was a prick."

Merlin had gotten up early and made Draco breakfast for his first day back at school. Merlin still had two days until he had to go to uni and he wanted to to make sure Draco had a first good day.

He set up the orange juice and bacon and eggs on the counter, then walked into the bedroom where Draco was. "Good morning." Merlin crawled on top of him and began to kiss at his neck. "I made you breakfast."

	Draco made a grumpy sound when his neck was kissed, but forced himself to open his eyes. "Breakfast?" he repeated, rubbing at his face. "Ugh. I don't want to go to school today. 	Merlin laughed at how cute Draco was being, then shook his head. "You're adorable when you're grumpy in the morning. Come on. I made your favourite breakfast. You'll love it." He kissed him deeply. 	"My favourite?" Draco looked up at Merlin, letting himself come out of his cocoon just a little bit. He kissed Merlin back and raised an eyebrow. "You'll let me tie you up?" 	"Exactly. I think it's a very fitting reward." Merlin told him as he looked down at Draco. "You go to school and you learn everything you can learn. Be all smart and sexy." Draco made a soft sound when Merlin rubbed against him, closing his eyes for a moment. "You... You make a very convincing argument for getting up and going to school," he said, laughing softly nipping at Merlin's bottom lip.

He rolled them over and sat up on Merlin's hips, then leaned down and gave him another kiss. "I should go eat the breakfast you made for me and get in the shower, if I'm going to get to school on time."

Merlin had been kind of busy and a bit neglectful to his boyfriend, but they did manage to make love when he wasn't falling asleep over his homework after work. So, he'd decided to try and make up for it and he was trying to give Draco a companion.

A tiny, white kitten was waiting for Draco on the counter when he came home. Dinner was on the table and Merlin was sitting, smiling at him. "Welcome home."
