"Do you know a charm for getting bloodstains out?" Thoreau Lestrange dropped onto the couch in the Slytherin common room, next to Pyxis. He showed her the blood staining the cuff on his white uniform shirt and then dug his fags out of his pocket. "The elves apparently don't. It's not even my blood. If it was my blood, I might not be annoyed that it's still there."

He lit one of the cigarettes and then offered it to Pyxis. "I like your new transfer student. Is he straight? Ravenclaw never gets anyone like that. I should have been in Slytherin. Would have got Bella off my back." Thoreau smiled at Pyxis. Being close to Macnairs meant getting close to Lestranges. Thoreau was pretty sure the only person in his family who didn't want Walden Macnair's cock was his uncle Rodolphus. Plus, Rider didn't get jealous of him. He was pretty much a complete fag. "Did you miss me while I was acquiring bloodstains?"

	Pyxis knew the question should have been a surprising one, but it wasn't. Especially not coming from Thoreau Lestrange, her somewhat best friend. She looked him over carefully for a moment, examining the blood stains on his shirt before she shrugged. "There's a spell for it. I haven't used it in a while." Pyxis tapped her fingers on the table. "Some Muggle, I think," Thoreau said, shrugging and holding his sleeve out to Pyxis for her to cast the spell. "It was a family outing. You know how those can get. Bellatrix is determined to prove that I don't have a strong enough stomach to inherit everything."

He looked Pyxis over and smiled. "You didn't answer my question about your new boy. Don't tell me you haven't noticed him. He's your type too."

Pyxis didn't exactly approve of Thoreau's parents and what they did, but there wasn't anything she could do. The Lestranges were a powerful family in the Wizarding World. What they did and the torture they inflicted seemed to make the Dark Lord very happy.

She cleaned up the stain and looked back at Thoreau. "I'd rather not talk about him. Why do you think I avoided the subject?"

Pyxis glanced around where they were sitting and shook her head. "Well. Kind of. I don't know." She ran a hand through her hair and sighed softly. Thoreau was usually pretty good at getting things out of her.

She looked back at Thoreau and then sighed. "We were working on our Defense work, because we got partnered, and he used Imperius to make me touch myself. And then.. things happened. That's all."

Thoreau frowned at that. "Things happened when you were under Imperius?" Making Pyxis touch herself was pretty much what any straight boy would do. Thoreau would probably do it too. But going further than that didn't sit well with him.

"What kind of things?" he asked, bristling. "You know, I'm very good with Cruciatus. I could make him apologise. I could at least make him suffer."

Thoreau frowned a little, playing with the part of his sleeve where the bloodstain had been. "I'm not sure I like this conversation," he said. "Rodolphus is a sadist too. Just not with Bellatrix. Their real problem with me is that I'm mostly a fag. Their therapy hasn't been very successful."

He looked up at Pyxis and gave her a quick smile. "Old men and the like. Bellatrix's ideas mostly. Rodolphus is such a pussy around her. It's not like I'm not going to get married or something."

"Parkinson?" Thoreau was pretty sure Malfoy would end up marrying her. It wasn't like he could get out of getting married anymore than Thoreau could. Or maybe he could. Everyone knew the Dark Lord liked him best. "I suppose I could try. Bellatrix might stop being such a cunt for a while if I spent time with a girl." He stubbed his cigarette out and looked around the common room, finding Parkinson sitting by herself. "Let's give you another reason to feel sorry for her." Thoreau leaned in and kissed Pyxis's forehead. "I'll be back if her gaydar turns out to not be irreparably broken."

Thoreau pushed himself off the couch and walked across the room, to Parkinson's side, resitting himself beside her. "It's been a while since we talked, hasn't it?" He smiled at Pansy. "Since my cousin's birthday, I think."

Thoreau blinked at Pansy for a moment, after the incredibly surprising kiss, and then laughed. "Just because I sleep with men doesn't mean I'm gay," he told her. "Here, let me show you."

Thoreau reached out and wrapped an arm around Pansy's waist, pulling her close and kissing her again. Women weren't his first choice, but Pansy was pretty and he knew what he was doing. Plus, she'd been forceful with him and he liked that.

He leaned in and kissed Pansy again, more softly this time. The fact that he was stealing the girl his cousin spent all his time with made this even better. A small part of him may have resented the way Draco got almost everything he wanted.

Thoreau really hadn't thought that far ahead, but he shrugged. As far as he knew, Pansy had spent most of their Hogsmede weekends hanging off of Draco Malfoy. He could convince her he was a better choice for a gay boyfriend. "Madame Puddifoot's for cake and tea, followed by walking through the shops, and then we can sneak out by that old house everyone says is haunted and I can try and snog you."
