Draco still couldn't get over the fact that animals liked him. It made him want to go up to cats in the Slytherin common room just to see if it was really true. The thestrals had all been affectionate enough though, and they were thestrals. And apparently he'd survived a summer in Romania with dragons. Draco had looked himself over for scars, but couldn't find any. He also couldn't believe his mother had let him go.

Draco walked towards the hut Weasley apparently lived in, feeling inexplicably nervous. He was hot and there had been... tension and all that stuff about how much Weasley hoped Draco hadn't forgotten him. It wasn't like he would have shared something like that with Tom Riddle, right? Then again, he'd let him know about kissing his son. Draco walked up and knocked on the hut door, feeling nervous about the memories.

Draco accepted the bottle from Charlie and took a swig of the whiskey. "The ferret thing probably didn't happen here," he said. He wasn't going to say when had happened if it hadn't. Life would be better if less people knew about that.

He smiled a little when Charlie said Coconut was still alive. "I think my father is different here," Draco said. "I haven't talked to him, but he didn't teach where I'm from, and..." Draco hesitated for a moment. "Is he... Are he and Evan Rosier together? Evan Rosier had been dead for years where I'm from. That would explain a lot about my father, actually."

Charlie wasn't sure he wanted to answer that question. He looked at Draco and thought about his answer, then nodded. "Yes. They're together. They're not public about it, but I've seen them together more than a few times. It's pretty obvious that they're dating."

He ran a hand over his face. "God. I didn't want to thing about that again. Other than my brother Bill, Evan is my best mate." He paused. "What am I like. From your time?"

Draco snorted. "I don't really want to think about that either. It's my father. Bad enough my mother has been cuddled up to Augustus Rookwood both times I've seen her. Although that could be worse. I'm used to Rookwood's face being covered in pockmarks from... I don't know. Some sort of accident or attack, I assume."

What was Charlie Weasley like. Draco shrugged. "I never met you," he said. "You didn't teach at Hogwarts, so I assume you were in Romania with your dragons all the time. I..." He paused. "There was a Weasley who was a star seeker for Gryffindor when he was in school. He graduated the year before I started, so that would be you, wouldn't it?"

	Charlie thought about that for a moment. "There was a mean outbreak of dragon pox here a while ago. I know that I ended up getting them. I was really sick, but luckily my father is a healer and was able to fix me up. I was a teen at the time." He smiled at that. "Well. Maybe that was me. "Arthur Weasley is a healer?" Draco gave Charlie a surprised look. "That... I suppose the Ministry doesn't have a Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Department under the Dark Lord. He did something for them in my time. I had dragon pox when I was younger. Where I'm from, my grandfather died from them. The Dark Lord kept him alive here." For reasons Draco really didn't want to think about.

Draco nodded. "I know," he said. "It probably was you. Malfoys and Weasleys aren't on the best terms in my time. Our fathers hate each other. And we're on opposite sides. I was a Death Eater. Your family practically adopted Harry Potter. Who... never existed here."

"Everyone knows why your grandfather is still alive. Tom likes to boast about it." Charlie told Draco with a careless shrug. "We all know how he feels about the Minister. But, no one has ever said anything to him about it."

"The last Potter died out with James in the seventies." Charlie agreed and then looked at Draco for a moment before he leaned in and kissed him. "I don't care who you are. I still love you."

Draco blinked in surprise at the kiss. "I -- thank you," he said, because he wasn't sure what else to say. But it wasn't like Charlie was unattractive, and now he was the only person who knew the truth about Draco's lost memories.

He tapped a finger against the bottle of whiskey in his hand and then took another swig from it. "We could get to know each other again," he suggested. "Since everyone will, I assume, be expecting me to spend a lot of time here anyway. It's nice, someone knowing the truth."

"My parents were against Tom for a while, but everyone eventually gave in. And it seems to have been for the better. If fighting him in your world caused so much chaos. 	"Tom is planning on having werewolves patrol the school." Charlie looked Draco over carefully. "Instead of the dementors. I'm not sure how I feel about it. No one is sure how they feel about it.
