Rex was new to Hogwarts, mostly because his father had been reassigned from France back to his home in England. Which was a bit confusing for Rex. He already had an attitude problem and a general dislike for most people. Tossing him into a new school with people he didn't know probably wasn't the best of ideas. And Thoreau wasn't exactly the easiest person to spend your time with. Especially when you thought he was a pushover pussy.

Deciding not to go to class, Rex leaned back on one of the leather couches in the Slytherin common room and lit himself a fag, staring out into the frozen lake through the window. It was peaceful, at least.
