Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Pansy was still on a high from having gone on her date with Thoreau. It had been suck a good date. And Thoreau had been a gentleman. She smiled to herself as she walked up to Draco's dorm and knocked on the door before she stepped inside. She smiled at him and fell onto the bed beside him, holding out the vial.

"I got you these." Pansy replied, singing a bit. "They're especially for you. All our memories together in a bottle. Are you excited?"

Draco had spent the day going through his homework making sure he knew everything they were learning so he could keep up in classes, now that he had enough brain power to pay attention, and trying not to think about having to marry Merlin. Unsuccessfully. What he really wanted to know was whether or not he'd known that was the plan. He looked up when Pansy walked into the room, singing and swanning around, and sighed. After replacing the Draco she knew, he supposed to spoiling her good mood would be a little much.

"Thank you for doing this," he said, wrapping an arm around her. "You're in a good mood. If the memories are that good, then I'm more than ready for them."

"I'm afraid I didn't add those particular memories in there. They don't have you in them." Pansy stuck out her tongue at him and laughed a bit. "I feel like I shouldn't be in such a good mood, since Pyxis and Rider broke up, but I am."

She smiled softly at him and grabbed the basin from his closet, holding it out to him. "It's going to be fun, sharing the old memories with you."

"Are... you friends with them?" Draco asked. He barely knew them. It wasn't like they'd even existed where he was from. The break-up hadn't struck him as something he should worry about, although everyone was talking about it. "Am I?"

He laughed and took the basin, relaxing. "You're being a lot better about this than Merlin was. He just got annoyed that I asked. Ready?" He poured the memories into the basin.

"We are friends with them. Yes." Pansy agreed with a laugh, looking him over. "They've been our friends since we were kids. I thought you'd at least remember that." She sighed softly and took his hand into her own.

"I'm ready. However, you're going in alone." She pointed out with a grin.

Draco looked up at Pansy beside him and then sighed. "One day I'm not going to have to ask these questions anymore. All right. I suppose I'll see you soon."

He leaned down, falling into the memories, and came to in something that, finally, seemed familiar. He and Pansy were small and he was holding her hand, dragging her around the manor. "I haven't shown you everything yet. You have to see everything."

Pansy was toddling behind Draco with a pout expression. She plunged her thumb into her mouth as she looked around the giant house. She was impressed, of course. It was a huge house.

"Why'sit so big?" She asked around her thumb, pouting a bit. "How much do I have to see?"

"Because we're rich," Draco informed Pansy, giving her a proud look. "Really rich. You can be rich too, when I marry you. Merlin threw one of my toys at me so I told him I was going to marry you. You'll be a good wife." She was good at following him around.

He pulled Pansy to a window and pointed down at the gardens. "Look. Mummy did all of that with my Uncle Evan. Do you like plants? Do you want to meet the peacocks?"

Pansy was a bit overwhelmed. The house was almost too much for a toddler to handle. Especially her. Her estate was modest at most and she didn't have a garden. Or a peacock. Let alone more than one.

And she spent most of her time with the house elves. "You have peacocks? I love plants." She informed him. "Plants are beautiful."

"My father has loads of peacocks," Draco said proudly, smiling at Pansy. "And they're all funny and white coloured too. Come on." He began dragging Pansy towards the stairs. "We'll go outside and we can see the plants and the peacocks up close."

All he wanted to do was convince Pansy that she wanted to stay. Draco liked her, and in his world liking someone meant you had to figure out a way to keep them for yourself. "Mummy would give you your own room, you know. If I asked her."

Pansy laughed at that and looked up at Draco, who was slightly taller than herself. He looked kind of funny with his pale skin and white hair and pointed features, but she liked him. She leaned against him.

"I don't know if my Mummy will let me stay here." Pansy pointed out with a pout. "She'll want me to go home so I can work with the house-elves."

Draco frowned at that, wrapping an arm around Pansy. "That's stupid," he said. "You're not an elf. You're a girl. Girls shouldn't work with elves unless they're mudbloods and I know you're not because Mummy would have said."

He dragged her through the halls, to a door that led outside. "I don't like your Mummy. I'll share mine with you instead. She's much better. I bet she'll buy you loads of presents. She buys me loads of presents. Merlin too."

Pansy liked the thought of presents. The only time her parents ever bought her anything was when they were taking her to fancy houses like this one in a search for a husband. She looked up at Draco for a moment and nodded.

"Okay. You can ask your Mummy." Pansy told him, then stuck her thumb back in her mouth and looked around. "I don't like mine."

"Mine's much better," Draco agreed, giving Pansy a smug smile. "Let's find a peacock and then we can go look at flowers and stuff." He opened the door, dragging Pansy into the yard and humming happily to himself. Keeping her at the manor would be even better. You could buy people, right? Probably.

"Pansy Malfoy sounds better than Pansy Parkinson, don't you think?" he asked her. "What do you want to name our kids?"

Pansy walked along with Draco, glancing around the Manor as she did. She felt conflicted about being Pansy Malfoy, but it did sound good. She'd thought the boy at the sweet shop with his Gran was cute, but she didn't know his name.

"We're going to have kids?" Pansy asked as she looked back at him. "I like the name Scorpius."

"Of course we are. I told you. I'm marrying you," Draco said, smiling at Pansy. "If I'm going to marry you then you're going to have to have kids." He thought about the name for a moment and then nodded. "Scorpius is a good name. Scorpius Malfoy."

He stopped when he heard rustling on the other side of the bushes they were walking beside and pressed a finger to his lips to shush Pansy before leading her around them, hoping it was a peacock.

It wasn't. It was his father and Uncle Evan. Draco sighed, making a face when they kissed. "Father," he said, voice loud. "This is my friend Pansy."

Lucius pulled away from Evan reluctantly, glancing at Draco and his friend and doing up the undone buttons on his shirt. "Is it?" he asked, sighing. "How lovely."

Evan wasn't as put out as Lucius was about Draco finding them. That was the price that was paid when you had children. He smiled at Draco and put his own shirt back on, then pulled the boy into a hug, kissing his forehead.

"It's nice to meet you, Miss Pansy." Evan smiled at her, holding out his hand.

Pansy blushed a bit and took the man's hand into her own tiny one. "S'nice to meet you."

Draco smiled at Evan. "I want to keep Pansy," he told him and his father. "She says she'd rather stay with me than go back home anyway. It would be mean to make her go now."

Lucius snorted, looking down at the little girl. "You can't let Draco push you around," he told her. "You're a woman. That means you get to be in control. Just ask Draco's mother."

Pansy looked up at Lucius. He had beautiful hair and beautiful features. She wished she could look just like him. She gave him a small smile and then looked at Draco, taking hold of his hand again.

"I'm okay with being pushed around." She replied, then chewed at her bottom lip. "My Daddy and Mummy make me sleep with the elves."

"They --" Lucius scowled. He wasn't a great parent. He knew that. Narcissa doted on Draco and even Evan was more attentive to the boy than he was, but he'd never make his son sleep with elves. He loved his son. "You'll stay with us," Lucius said firmly. He stood and picked the little girl up, then took Draco's hand. "I'll contact your parents."

Draco looked up at his father, feeling a bit awed. Usually he had to pout at his mother to get the things he wanted. "Really?" he asked.

"Yes, of course," Lucius said. "You're right, Draco. Pansy should stay here. It's not as if your mother isn't dying for another child around the house anyway. Let's get you both some ice cream."

The scene changed, a fog of pink glitter flashing before Draco's eyes, letting him see the next memory. It was black and there was the sound of a small girl crying. Pansy crying. All she could hear were the voices outside.

Merlin looked at Draco as he sat on the toy box, that he'd put a silencing spell on. "It's not my fault Pansy doesn't want to come to your sixth birthday." He informed him with a frown. "If she loved you she'd be here. Like me."

Draco gave Merlin a miserable look, wrapping his arms around his knees. "She does love me," he told him. "It's not fair. There are all these stupid other people coming. I just wanted to invite you and Pansy."

He sighed and rested his chin on his arms, looking at Merlin. "At least you're here. Do you think maybe she got really sick or something? Mum didn't say she wasn't coming. Mum would have told me if she was sick, right?"

"You don't need her." Merlin informed Draco and kissed him softly on the forehead. "I'm all the friend you need. The two of us can spend the day together without having to worry about her."

He gave him a soft smile. "Your Mum got an extra big cake. I think we should tell her we don't want to share it with any of the other kids."

Draco looked at Merlin for a moment, then shook his head. Spending the whole day with Merlin didn't sound like a birthday. It sounded like every other day. "I don't really feel like eating that much cake. They probably got me presents. They can have some."

He sighed, pouting to himself. "Why wouldn't she come?" Draco asked. "Do you think I did something? I just wanted to spend the day with my best friends and maybe let June play too, if we needed four people for something."

"We definitely don't need June. She's boring." Merlin whined and shook his head. He sighed and stood up. "How about you go into the other room and I'll go make Pansy come to your birthday. Okay? Does that sound fun?"

The last thing he wanted was to have a whining Draco for the rest of the day.
