Charlotte usually went wherever Elodie did. Her cousin was older than her, and spent a lot of time at their house, so it made sense. Plus, Elodie was older and even if she liked weird things and was a bit violent, Charlotte still liked her. She was cool. Today, she was over at Xavier's house playing with her stuffed unicorn while Elodie and Xavier played with their dolls.

Charlotte glanced at the other boy in the room, who she'd met a couple times but was too shy to talk to, and watched him chew on his sheep for a bit before she crawled over to him. "Hi," she said, sitting next to him. "I have a unicorn."

"You look nice," Charlotte informed Bruno firmly. She was a little bit worried about her first day of school. Bruno being there helped a lot. He was her best friend. "Don't you want to go to school with me?" She pouted at him, then shifted closer.

"My mummy says when I'm older I might go to a special school in France that she went to. If you don't spend time with me now, I might be gone soon." Charlotte took his hand again.

	Bruno stared at Charlotte. A special school in France? He frowned at that and shook his head, grabbing her hand tightly and marching up to the front of the school doors. That wasn't okay. "No." Bruno informed her, shaking his head. "You are not allowed to go to some flouncy school in France. You have to stay here with me." There were a lot more princes in France. Charlotte grinned at Bruno. "Okay," she agreed. She leaned in and kissed his cheek. At least he wasn't upset about going to school with her anymore. "I won't go away to France, I promise. I'll stay with you."

She pushed the doors to the school open, leading him in. "This is going to be so great, Bruno. We're going to go to a real school and make lots of friends and be really popular."

	Bruno wasn't so sure he wanted to be popular either. But, he nodded and let out a sigh. "Fine." He told her and walked into the school. He looked at the note pinned on his jacket and read his teacher's name. Then, he looked at Charlotte. "You-" He wanted to cry. "We aren't in the same class?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Charlotte looked down at the note her parents had given her, feeling surprised. She'd just assumed that going to the same school would mean being with Bruno all the time. Bruno looked very upset, and Charlotte could remember how she'd cried the year before when Elodie had started school and she'd seen less of her.

"I... I'll still see you at lunch," she told him. "We can eat and play together then. And at recess. And after school." Charlotte gave Bruno a worried look. "You'll still be my best friend, right?"

	Bruno still wanted to cry. He looked back at Charlotte as his eyes watered and then he pulled back from her. "Yeah. Of course." He nodded and then looked for his classroom number. It seemed like it took forever to get to lunch. Bruno had made a couple of friends in his class and he'd sat with them because he couldn't find Charlotte in the cafeteria. Charlotte liked her class a lot, even if she missed Bruno. She'd gotten along really well with a bunch of the other kids. She led the way into the cafeteria, smiling when she saw Bruno and bringing her group over to sit with him.

"Hi," she said, standing and frowning at the boy sitting next to Bruno until he moved over so she could take his spot. "These are my new friends. Friends, this is Bruno. He's my best friend."

	Bruno looked up at the Stepford kids. They all had blond hair. Well, most of them. He frowned. "Hello." He drew his attention back to Charlotte. "Who are they?" Cepheus was kind of nervous. "They're my friends," Charlotte said, smiling at Bruno. She looked at the twins as they sat opposite them. "This is Scorpius and Cepheus Malfoy. They're twins." Twins were so cool. It was like having two friends who were the same people, even if they weren't identical.

Scorpius was nervous too, but he was five minutes older than Cepheus which meant he should be looking after his little brother. "It'll be okay," he said, giving his brother a reassuring smile. He sat across from Charlotte and her friend and held out a hand to the other boy. "It's nice to meet you."

Bruno reached across the table, after a moments hesitation, and shook the boys hand. "I'm Bruno Macnair. It's nice to meet you too." He looked at her and then at his friends. "That's Albus Severus Potter. And that's Jaden. He's one of my cousins. And that's Jude."

Jaden glanced up at Charlotte and nodded. "Nice to meet you." He took a bite of the beef jerky one of his mothers had packed for him for lunch.

Albus was listening to his ipod, but he heard his name. He pulled out his headphone and glanced at the blond kids, reminding him of some horror movie his older brother watched. "Hullo."
