"You cheated on me once," Kit agreed, nodding. "If that pain hadn't been out-weighed by all the other stuff, all the good things we had together, then I wouldn't be here now. But I am. Because you are wonderful, Albus."
He pet at the other boy's hair for a moment, then wiped at the tears on Albus's face with his thumbs. "We're alike. We love each other. We want the same things and we're both willing to make sacrifices for each other's happiness. We were together for two years, Albus. Maybe you just... started a relationship with someone who's a completely different person than me expecting the same things I gave you from them. And that's not your fault."
