"Just don't get a dog that will eat Bertie," Charlotte said. "Get a big Macnair dog who's really a great big sweetheart and a pushover. Or maybe a girlfriend for Bertie."
She grinned at Bruno. "That would be cute. They could have babies and then we'd have a house full of puppies."
