James was drunk, but also excited, and more than ready to see Cepheus. His team had won a big game -- a game that meant they were now vying for second or third in the league -- and they'd gone out celebrating after. James had sent a lot of pouty texts, trying to get Cepheus to come join him, but he'd been busy or something because he kept saying no, and James would have been put out about not being able to crawl all over Cepheus while he was celebrating, but that was fine. He just danced with a bunch of slutty girls and let them try and get his his pants, which were completely uninterested in letting them in.

"Gay and engaged," he hummed to himself, trying to fit his key in the door. The pictures on the blogs were going to be ridiculous. "En-gay-ged." James rattled the door open and fell into the flat, laughing to himself. "Pheeeeeeee, I'm a champion! Chaaaaaaampion! And I'm gaaaaaaay!"

"We're planning on at least two more." Cepheus promised his grandmother, smiling up at her. Jaks didn't look anything like him, but that didn't matter. He was still part of him. He looked at Lavinia for a moment, then smiled at her and wrapped his arms around her.

Rex wanted a baby too. He couldn't even get Lavinia to date him properly. He moved over so he could look at the baby, then pouted at Lavinia, giving her the most pathetic look he could.

Lavinia was happy for James and Cepheus, but this whole baby thing was just making Rex's desire for one worse. It wasn't like she objected to the idea of starting a family, but she was only halfway through law school. It wasn't in her plan.

She kissed Cepheus's cheek, hugging him back. "Congrats, Dad," she said. "My kind-of-boyfriend is dying for one of these, you know."

	Cepheus laughed at that and glanced at Rex. "She'll give you one eventually. When she decides that her ambition is so great that it's causing her personal life to struggle. Or when she's forty and her biological clock starts ticking." Rex looked up at Lavinia and frowned. "If she doesn't get her shit together now, I'll just have one on my own." Lavinia didn't think she deserved to be frowned at for not thinking she was ready to have a baby. "I'm not even finished school yet, Rex. How am I supposed to help raise a baby?"

She sighed, leaning her head against Cepheus's shoulder. "Jaks is really cute, though. And Antonia's boobs did get huge when she was pregnant." Lavinia looked at Rex, who wanted a baby really badly, and then down at Jaks being passed from great-grandmother to great-grandmother. "Maybe we could babysit for you and James in a bit, when he's old enough for you to leave him overnight."

	Cepheus was trying desperately to sleep. He'd been up three or four times with Jaks as he screamed his head off. And now, he was screaming his head off again and Cepheus really just wanted to sleep. But, of course, James was sleeping through it. He frowned to himself for a moment, then sat up and slapped James's back hard. "Get the fuck up, you cunt." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

James grunted in protest when Cepheus hit him, rubbing at his eyes as he registered Jaks's screaming. It wasn't his fault he could sleep through most things. He slept on a bus full of rowdy footballers regularly and he'd spent his summers ignoring a dozen or so cousins running around the house growing up.

"How long has he been screaming?" he asked, sitting up and grabbing his robe as he stuffed his feet into his slippers. "I have a solution. You sleep." He kissed the top of Cepheus's head, then shuffled out of the room to check on Jaks.

Jaks was wailing away in the nursery and after making sure he didn't need a change, James scooped him up and sat in the rocking chair, closing his eyes and trying not to soothe himself to sleep as he tried to quiet Jaks down. "Sleep, Jackie. Sleep before your daddy kills me in my sleep." He started to sing the first song he could think of, which happened to be by Katy Perry, but that was fine, he just slowed it down, forgetting that Cepheus could hear him through the baby monitor.

"He's been screaming all night. This is the seventh time I've gotten up." Cepheus informed James with a frown. "And you have slept through every single time. And I hate you."

He watched James leave the room, then tried to settle into sleep. When the words of Katy Perry suddenly started, Cepheus thought he was going to kill himself in his sleep. Let alone James. Even if he was kind of amused. He sighed and crawled out of bed, walking into the nursery. "If you are going to sing our child a lullaby by a whore, at least make it a good whore." He told him, leaning against the doorframe, then started singing the lyrics to a Kesha song.
