James was drunk, but also excited, and more than ready to see Cepheus. His team had won a big game -- a game that meant they were now vying for second or third in the league -- and they'd gone out celebrating after. James had sent a lot of pouty texts, trying to get Cepheus to come join him, but he'd been busy or something because he kept saying no, and James would have been put out about not being able to crawl all over Cepheus while he was celebrating, but that was fine. He just danced with a bunch of slutty girls and let them try and get his his pants, which were completely uninterested in letting them in.

"Gay and engaged," he hummed to himself, trying to fit his key in the door. The pictures on the blogs were going to be ridiculous. "En-gay-ged." James rattled the door open and fell into the flat, laughing to himself. "Pheeeeeeee, I'm a champion! Chaaaaaaampion! And I'm gaaaaaaay!"

"I'm not a baby!" Jaks protested, slapping his hand on the coffee table and frowning at his daddy. "I'm a big boy, Daddy." He looked at James. "Papa, I'm a big boy."

"Big boys don't hit the furniture," James told him, ruffling his hair. "You know better, Jaks. Don't raise your voice to your father." He looked up at Cepheus and Rigby. "She's a very calm baby. She'd be better than those ones that are always crying on that show you watch."

Cepheus glanced at Antonia as she sat on the couch with him, watching some show that she liked. She was already pregnant with their third child and Cepheus was trying to both decide on a baby name and sew gems onto a dress for Rigby's third pageant.

"What do you think about Homer?" He asked her as he sewed on another gem.

"I think your kid shouldn't be named after a cartoon character." Antonia replied, shoving a brownie into her mouth. "That's what I think."

"You-" Cepheus frowned at her. "Did you even pay attention in history class or are you just thick?" He turned when the door opened and looked at James. "Jimmy Jams. Tell her Homer is not a cartoon character."

"Okay, but he is," James said, dropping his practice kit by the door. He walked over to look at what they were watching, kissing Cepheus briefly. "That dress is looking great, Phe. Why are we talking about The Simpsons?"

He perched on the arm of the couch and then his brain caught up with his mouth. "Oh, the old guy. He wrote some poems or whatever? Right." He looked at Antonia. "Homer isn't a cartoon character."

"He's not some old guy. God, I live with swine." Cepheus complained as he looked up at the television. "We were discussing baby names and I suggested Homer-"

"And then I called him out on naming him after a yellow, stupid cartoon character." Antonia popped another piece of food into her mouth. "I'm just looking out for the kid."

"I mean, Homer would be a unique name," James said, after a moment. He hated it. Hated everything about it. Agreed with Antonia absolutely. There was no fucking way they were doing that to a kid.

"I think everyone is going to be like me and Antonia," he admitted. "They're going to think of the cartoon first and whoever else second. Could you imagine going through school with everyone thinking you had the same name as Homer Simpson?"

"I don't even know who Homer Simpson is." Cepheus frowned at the both of them, beginning to sew furiously. "Whatever. I hate the both of you. You can name the kid together and live happily ever after."

Cepheus looked down at Rigby, with the huge flower on the top of her headband, giggling up at him. "You like your name, don't you, Rigs? I picked it out by myself. No one complained about it."

"If you knew who Homer Simpson was, you wouldn't want to name our next kid Homer," James promised Cepheus. "Your parents were good about making you smart. Ours obviously weren't."

He reached down and rubbed Rigby's tummy, smiling when she giggled even louder and grabbed at his fingers. "You had some names the other night that you liked. What happened to Moses? I like Moses."

Antonia arched a brow at the two of them. "Are you serious?" She asked, then snorted. "How is Moses any better than Homer? You two are freaks." She picked up her own son when he started to fuss.

"You named your kid Willow." Cepheus pointed out, frowning. "I don't think that you really have any room to talk. Moses isn't bad. I don't know. I was just thinking over names."

"I like Moses," James said, reaching over to pat the bump in Antonia's belly. "He feels like a Moses to me. I know we're definitely not naming him Beckham. You had that on the list to toy with me."

James kissed the top of Cepheus's head. "Toni can name her kids whatever she wants to name them. We'll name our kid whatever we can agree on."

Having three kids was a big of a handful, but James was pretty good at wrestling up with the boys and Cepheus was pretty good at keeping Rigby happy. He smiled at his daughter as she stood in her dress he'd made her and turned slowly, toddling just a bit.

"She's the most beautiful two year old girl I've ever seen." Cepheus said proudly, beaming at James. "We're still working on talent. She can't memorize the dance."

"She is two," James said. He did not get pageants. He went and he tried to be supportive, because Rigby did seem to actually like them, but still. They were so... pageanty. "You do look gorgeous in your dress, Rigby. Come here and let me see you up close."

Jaks did not get the stupid pageant thing either. All he knew was there were two people competing with him for his parents now and Rigby's stupid dresses took up all his daddy's time. Not to mention the baby. "She looks ugly."

Cepheus frowned at Jaks. "What is with you lately?" He asked, looking at his son. "That's not nice. Your sister doesn't look ugly. We've talked about this jealousy thing."

Rigby toddled over to her Daddy and giggled as she fell into his lap. "Up." She said, holding her arms up to him.

"She does," Jaks insisted, frowning back at his father. If he didn't want him anymore, Jaks wasn't going to behave. "She looks weird and poofy and Moses is stupid and he smells." He crossed his arms over his chest. What was his daddy going to do about it? At least he was getting some attention from him now.

James smiled at Rigby, picking her up and kissing her on the forehead. "You look just like a princess," he promised her. "Is that what you are?"

Cepheus frowned down at his son and stood up. He took his hand and led him over to the corner, sticking him there. "I love you, but you're not being nice. So you're going to stand in the corner." He informed him. "I want to see your nose in the crack."

Rigby nodded and pressed close to her Daddy. She shoved her thumb in her mouth, then tugged on a bit of his hair. "Prisess."

"You don't love me at all!" Jaks declared, scowling at his father for a long moment before he started to tear up, sniffling pathetically. "You love Rigby and the baby more than me. You had the baby and now I'm not special anymore and all you want to do it play dresses with Rigby because you love her best."

James smiled at Rigby, laughing when she pulled on his hair. "Yes, you're definitely a princess. You even get to grow up in a manor. That's pretty much a castle."

Cepheus felt his heart shatter. "That's not true at all." He told him, then sighed and got onto his knees in front of his son. "You know that's not true, Jaks. I love you more than you'll know. I'm just.. I'm better at girl things. I'm not good at sports like your Daddy is."

Rigby giggled. "Prince?" She asked, looking at her baby brother, then back at her Daddy. "Are you a king?"

"We don't have to do sports!" Jaks promised, wiping at his eyes. "You can choose what we play. It's not fair. I was here first and Rigby and the baby make it so that you don't even notice me and they get all the presents because Rigby's a girl and Moses is a stupid baby who can't even do anything but poop."

James nodded firmly. "Moses is definitely a prince," he promised her, but he laughed when she asked if he was a king. "Nah, not me. I'm just a lowly peasant your papa married. He's the one who's a king."

"You get presents too. You don't like suits." Cepheus pouted at his son, as if it was even going to work. He was tearing up, though. He felt so bad. "What do you want to play with me?"

Rigby tried to take all of that in and then nodded, pointing to the tv. "Toy Story?" She asked, clapping her hands together.

Jaks studied his father for a moment, then leaped at him to close the space between them, hugging him tightly. "Legos," he said, voice muffled in Cepheus's shirt. "I wanna play Legos with you."

"Course," James agreed, putting Rigby down on the couch and getting up to put the dvd on for her. Life was so weird having kids instead of living in a slick London flat with Cepheus, but it had re-opened a whole new field of movies to him. "You know I love Toy Story."

***

James had been away from home for three weeks. Three whole weeks of life without Cepheus or any of the kids. They called and Skyped, but it had still been almost a month and he was kind of glad England had gotten knocked out of the World Cup because he'd been dying to get back home. It was just too bad his flight got in in the middle of the night.

He opened the door to find a pile of sleeping children waiting for him on the stairs and he smiled as he eased the door shut. "Phe?" he whispered, glancing around the entrance hall.

Cepheus was carrying a tray of hot cocoa when he heard James come in. He smiled at him and put the tray on one of the tables lining the wall, then held up a cup to James.

"Welcome home." Cepheus leaned in and kissed James deeply, making a soft, pleased noise against his lips. "I've missed you so much."

Rigby sat up and rubbed at her eyes, then screamed Daddy, waking the other two up.

"God, you have no idea how much I missed you," James whispered, wrapping his arms around Cepheus. "I want to carry you upstairs, throw you down, and --" But then Rigby was awake and waking everyone else up. James pulled back, laughing, and walked over to the stairs, wrapping his arms around all three kids and kissing their foreheads. "Did my munchkins miss me?"

"Did you bring presents?" Jaks asked, hugging his dad back and giving him a hopeful look. "We missed you a lot! Daddy let us watch all your games. You shoulda won more."

"He should have. But, now he's home." Cepheus pointed out as he looked down at his kids and laughed. "Doesn't he always bring presents? It's against his religion to not."

Moses looked up at his Daddy with big brown eyes and smiled at him. "Hi Daddy." He told him, then hugged him back. "I'm hungry."

"We waited all night for you, Daddy." Rigby announced as she pushed herself up from the stairs. "We missed you so much we didn't want to miss you coming in."
