Rider found Pyxis siting by herself in the common room and flopped down next to her. Things had been easier for him lately and he was starting to hate everyone a little bit less. He knew he had Pyxis to thank for it. He wrapped an arm around her. "You telling on my cousin or half-brother or whatever the fuck he was really made them lighten up on me."

He looked down at her. "Sorry about your friend being put away for close observation or whatever they're calling it. How's the half-brother of mine that you're fucking?"

	"Yes. He already told me that." Pyxis nodded, looking down at the coffee table in front of them. She ran a hand through her hair, playing with the ends of it for a moment, then let out a bitter laugh. "I think I felt better when I wasn't getting better." Rider shrugged. "I'm here for the long haul," he pointed out. "I'm never going to leave. I couldn't tell you. But I've seen people leave and getting better means feeling better, but sometimes that means letting yourself feel shitty too. It doesn't really surprise me. You're not fucking everything that moves as soon as you feel bad now. That's something. Sad for me, though. I still want to fist you."

	Part of Pyxis really wanted Rider to try. It didn't matter how she felt about Walden. When she felt like this, her mind did stupid things and it made her want to do stupid things. "Fuck off," Rider grumbled, sitting in the chair beside Pyxis's. "Pyxis is feeling insecure because of the Thoreau thing. I think. I'm not that great at reading people. It comes with the whole psychopath thing."

Walden looked up at Pyxis and Rider and then down at the paperwork he'd been doing. He closed it. "Hello," he said. The things Rooney had said in the lift were still on his mind as he smiled at Pyxis, feeling a bit nervous about so many people knowing about the two of them. "I'm glad you two are getting along."

Walden looked up at Pyxis and shook his head. "There's nothing wrong with me," he said. "I'm just concerned about Thoreau and Rooney right now. I think maybe Thoreau should be the one moving up a floor and not Rooney, but it's going to be hard to convince Snape of that when Rooney was the one who got violent. They could both go to the third floor, but then they might spend time together which would defeat the purpose of splitting them up."

Walden shook his head. "Normally I wouldn't talk about other patients like this, but I know how worried you are about him."

"I have been worried about him. I know that he's suicidal, which is why he was having Rooney beat him in the first place." Pyxis sighed heavily and ran a hand through her hair. Walden was still being odd with her, wasn't he? She brushed it off.

"I think that Thoreau would benefit from being on the third floor." Pyxis agreed, then glanced at Rider. "I've never been to the third floor. What's it like?"
