Pyxis was shaking. Physically shaking from what had happened to her. She looked at herself in her mirror, her eyes puffy and red from crying so much. Her trip to the nurses had not ended as she'd hoped it would and now... Now she just felt completely terrified. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then started down the hall towards Walden's office.

She knocked a couple of times, then walked in. She didn't even know what to say. She just stared at him for a long moment, leaning against the door frame.

Walden looked up at Pyxis when she walked into his office, the smile that had been forming on his face fading almost immediately. "Pyxis, you -- what's wrong?"

He got up and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to his chest. Forget that he'd wanted to question her about her apparent involvement with Macnair. Stopping the crying was much more important. He ran his fingers through Pyxis's hair and kissed her softly. "What happened?" Nobody had died, right? They would have told him.

	Pyxis melted against Walden, even if her mind was screaming for her to pull away. She closed her eyes and just held him for a moment, trying to forget everything she knew. But, it was inevitable. Walden looked down at Pyxis. Was it Rider? He'd called for them to stop giving him pills to keep him from raping people. If he... Maybe he and Pyxis had... Walden did his best not to pull away from Pyxis, feeling worried and hurt.

"Did you... you and Rider?" he asked, trying to think of anything else that she could be apologising for. "The picture that Regulus took looked... you looked happy."

	Pyxis pulled back and stared at Walden. She wanted him. She gave him a pained look and then pushed him back a bit. "How could you even ask me that? Walden stared at Pyxis, feeling... He wasn't sure what he was feeling. Relief that she hadn't cheated on him for sure, but... a baby? It would be very difficult to hide their relationship if Pyxis was pregnant.

He understood why she'd been crying now. "That's... I'm sorry," Walden said. "That you're... and that I accused you of sleeping with him. That's..." He pulled Pyxis closer again. "Are you sure? Have you been to see a nurse?"

	"Yes. I'm sure." Pyxis nodded and closed her eyes. She held herself against Walden as tightly as she could without cutting off his air supply. She pulled back only a tiny bit to look at him. Walden picked Pyxis up, walking over to his desk and taking a seat behind it, holding her close in his lap. "Rider... We'll have to thank him," he said, giving Pyxis a small smile. "That's... that will help us a lot."

He kissed Pyxis for a long moment, closing his eyes and trying not to be too obvious about how worried he was. "This... Fuck. I don't know what to do, Pyxis. I'm so sorry this happened. I should have been more careful when we were together."

Their child. Walden smiled a little at that, touching Pyxis's hair. "We're both responsible for it. Once you're out, things will be a lot easier. You could move in with me. I'd make sure you were both okay."

He touched her stomach and then kissed her again. "I'm sorry this happened, but I love you. I love being with you and I'm going to make sure you and the baby have a good life. No matter what."

"We'll figure something out," Walden promised Pyxis, touching her hair. "I'm not going to let them take your child away from you, Pyxis. You're able to take care of yourself. You're not a threat to it. You can take care of him or her in here. The nurses will help and so will I."

Walden wasn't sure how Snape would feel about it, but he was prepared to fight for this. "It'll be okay, Pyxis. I promise."

Pyxis was not convinced, in the slightest, that Walden could make this okay. She looked back at him for a long moment, studying his eyes. She knew that he really thought that this was going to be okay, but she still wasn't sure it would be.

"They won't let Rider see it." Pyxis pointed out. "They'll think it's his and they'll keep it away from him. He's the only friend I have here."

"You and Rider can see each other still, though," Walden said, trying to think of a way to make that work. Pyxis had a point. "We'll figure something else. I can tell them I think it's better for Rider to get to know his child. And supervise the visits."

He touched Pyxis's elbow. "And as long as you don't have the baby with you, you'll be able to see Rider whenever you want. Snape might make sure it wasn't rape and you're not projecting anything onto him first, but that will be easy. We both know you're not."
