Mick was quiet as Brie went on with her mutterings. She wanted to be sure she caught every little thing the woman said, so only when she was certain that Brie was done talking did she really process all that the woman had said. She'd had a speculation about Brie's sexual preference, and it was good to know she'd been dead on. It also made Mick more interested in Brie, but for the wrong reasons. She had a job to do, and there was no time to think about how she desperately wanted to save this woman. Not just from the unsub, but from her life.
"This type of person twists things for his own benefit. He might think you're into women because you haven't found the right man yet - him. Or maybe he just refuses to see that aspect of you, and writes it off as you enjoy female companionship and friendship. But yes, you sleeping with other men is damaging to his ego. He'd acting out by killing women who remind him of you. So you can see why we're wanting to make sure that you're safe. I would like to know you were safe."
