Ever since Micah had been spending more and more time with Wyatt, especially outside of work, the easier it was to really fall into a comfortable mode with the other man. It was also very easy for his feelings to take on a life of their own, and that made it difficult to ignore them. But he was managing. The flight to Raleigh, North Carolina had been a short one, and the drive to Casey Porter's even shorter.

As Micah parked the SUV, he let out a sigh, and then slipped out of the car to go around and help Wyatt out since it had been snowing. Once the other man was safely out of the car, he led the way up to the porch and knocked on the door. Christmas music could be heard playing, and the distinct smell of baked goods as well.

Casey had been in the middle of trying to aid with the baking, but he really wasn't all that great in the kitchen, so when he heard the knock he was the one to go answer the door. When he saw the two men, he wasn't sure what to think, but he smiled in a friendly manner.

"You guys don't look like the type to be selling Christmas goodies," he said.

"I'm Casey Porter, yes," Casey answered, and his smile faltered a tiny bit. FBI? With the anniversary of the incident in 2005 two days away, he couldn't help but think of it and wonder if the Agents were there because of it. "Come in..." he added as he stepped aside, and he closed the door behind them.

"I'm Agent Bishop, and this is Agent Winston," Micah said as he wiped his feet off politely on the mat by the door, and then he held his hand out to Casey. Casey took it and gave it a shake as he nodded at Wyatt.

"Is this about the assault on me in 2005?" he asked plainly as he led the way over to the couch.

Sigmund had always been the protective sort. He was still dealing with the notion that he hadn't been able to prevent the incident altogether and that sheer luck had been the only thing to save his lover from something possibly even more terrible than he'd already experienced. It had taken awhile to get to the point where he could let Casey out of his sight.

When he heard the voices of the men coming from the living room, he put his baking on pause and went to see what was going on. "Hello," he said. He didn't mean for the tone to be threatening, but there was an element of it there as he eyed the two strangers.

Wyatt straightened when he saw Sigmund and then glanced back at Casey. "Yes, we've collected a group of cases that seem to be fundamentally similar to your assault and we were hoping to gain some insight through your experience if you'd be willing to help."

When Sigmund came out of the kitchen, Casey glanced over at him and reached out to gently touch the side of his arm just to assure him that he was all right.

"Sigmund, this is Agent Bishop and Agent Winston from the FBI," he said, and Micah nodded his head politely at Sigmund. He extended his hand out to the man, too, and Casey looked back to Wyatt. "Come sit down, I'll help you however I can."

While Sigmund was all for helping, he didn't like the idea of people there to bring the whole incident back up again. He'd had such a hard time getting over it the first time that really he'd only buried the feelings rather than truly dealt with them. But since Casey seemed so willing, Sigmund kept his mouth shut. But he didn't go back to baking.

Wyatt offered a respectful smile in Sigmund's direction, really wanting him to understand that they were there for a very important reason. "Can you begin by describing your experience? We've read the report, of course, but often times a great deal of information is missing from them. Even the smallest detail may give us an important clue into the mind of your attacker."

Casey sat down next to Sigmund, and he reached out to gently take a hold of the man's hand as he listened to Wyatt's question. He was quiet for a moment. While he had dealt with the attack as best as he possibly good, and had honestly recovered pretty well, it was still difficult sometimes.

"It was before Sigmund and I lived together, but we had keys to eachother's places. So sometimes after working late he'd come over, and I'd be asleep. I had played in the local symphony that night, a holiday concert, and afterwards I came home and just did everything like I normally did."

"What did you normally do?" Micah asked softly. "Did you have a routine?"

"I don't know, I guess," Casey answered as he furrowed his brow. "I ate dinner, I took a shower, got ready for bed, I called Sigmund... Then I read for a while before I fell asleep. A sound woke me up, I thought it was Sigmund coming in, but he always turned on the hall light and when it didn't come on it made me nervous for some reason. So I tried to turn on the lamp beside my bed, but it didn't come on. At first I thought the bulb had burned out, but the alarm clock wasn't on either."

"The cops wrote in the report that the power breaker had been turned off," Micah recalled, and Casey nodded.

Wyatt listened quietly. He didn't have to have the report in front of him to know every word inside of it. "He must have been assured that he could complete his work before Sigmund showed up, or he assumed that he wasn't going to show up at all that evening." He was thinking out loud, but then urged Casey to continue with his story.

"I got up to go to the hall, and that's when he came at me. He was so fast, I couldn't really see his face. He pushed me down onto the bed and I felt a sort of pinch in my arm, like a shot," Casey said quietly. "That's when I saw the needle, but I couldn't really focus, I was too scared and then I started to feel really heavy."

"He injected you with something," Micah said, and Casey nodded. "Was he pretty strong, would you say that he seemed in shape?"

"Yeah, he was definitely stronger than I was. But I guess I'm not that strong," Casey said with a sort of sheepish look. "I know he was white, tall. But hair color, I don't know... He um, went to my closet and was getting clothes out and I remember thinking, is this guy really here just to raid my closet?" He paused and shook his head. "I tried to get up but I was kind of going in and out of it. I remember he asked me where my violin was."

That got Micah's attention because the fact that Casey played violin hadn't been in the police report. Elijah Hunter, the boy who had gone missing a month later, was also a violinist.

"Violin," Wyatt said and glanced at Micah. "He wanted to take your violin? You play with the symphony. I imagine that you're quite talented, fairly well known in musical circles, perhaps?"

Sigmund butted in here. "He's exceedingly talented, one of the top violinists for his age. Does that have something to do with why he was attacked?"

"The cases that we're looking into all seem to have to do with the victims having a very significant talent," Micah explained. "Casey, when he asked you where your violin was, did he say anything else?"

"No," Casey said as he shook his head. "Well, wait, no, he said something about having me play for him," he said after a moment as he knit his brow in concentration. "He said that the violin was a very beautiful instrument, and then he started to sort of just ramble, or at least that's what it seemed like to me because I couldn't really concentrate. He got up and came towards me, and then he was just on me, and it was strange because he had seemed so controlled before, but after he started to talk about my music he didn't. And he just started touching me and then he started to..." He paused and drew in a deep breath. "Have sex with me and then Sigmund came in. He heard him and he just took off, he went out the bedroom window." He hadn't realized it, but as he spoke, he'd slowly started to grip Sigmund's hand a more tightly.

Wyatt noticed that Sigmund's entire body was wound up tightly. He could feel the discomfort radiating off of him. Sigmund couldn't stand to hear what Casey had been through and he couldn't forget the feeling jabbing through the pit of his stomach when he'd walked in on his lover being attacked.

"It was difficult to see him in the dark. I didn't think to run after him because I wanted to make sure Casey was all right." It was obvious that Sigmund felt guilty about this. He felt as if he should have been able to do both--go after the man and protect Casey.

Casey let his free hand come over to rest on top of Sigmund's, so that the older man's hand was nestled in between both of his. He felt infinitely lucky to have someone like Sigmund in his life, and it was obvious that he loved the man more than anything else.

"I would have done the same thing," Micah responded honestly as he met Sigmund's eyes. He had no doubt that, despite his training, seeing someone he loved like that - they would have been his priority. Same as his team. "Casey," he said, turning his attention back to the younger man. "Do you remember anything strange a few days prior to the attack? Anyone... strange that made you feel uncomfortable, or was watching you?"

"No," Casey said as he shook his head again. He wished he had more information, and he almost felt as if he should have been paying attention to every little thing back then, but how was he to know what was going to happen. "The cops never asked me these questions," he said after a moment before he let out a sigh through his nose. "I don't think they took me very seriously." It hurt and it made him angry, but it was the truth. Male rape? How often did anyone come forward about something like that? He felt like a joke to some of the cops, and it was obvious that he wasn't a joke to Wyatt or Micah, and it made him feel like someone actually cared.
