Two against one, right? Those were good odds and they weren't going to split up. They were following protocol, especially when a person's life was in danger. The sooner they got to her, the better.

Wyatt wasn't entirely comfortable with a gun, but he went practicing with Micah and he'd improved immensely. Following Emma's lead, Wyatt held his gun carefully with two hands and went inside.

Things were dark, of course. No sociopath could work in a well lit area, he supposed. Letting his eyes adjust to the low lighting, he strained his ears to try and hear where the noises were coming from. There was a sliver of light in the distance behind a door to what looked like it could be an office. "There," Wyatt said in a low tone, indicating that he thought the sounds were coming from that direction.
