Unable to keep from crying out with fear, Wyatt yelled Emma's name as he went to her side. As good of a memory and as sharp of a brain as he had, everything went blank. What was he going to do?
Help, he needed help first. Reaching for her, he pulled her farther into the room so that he could slam the door shut with his foot. That would buy him some time because he could tell the shot had come from the dark of the warehouse. He dug for his cell phone and called for an ambulance, indicating that an agent had been shot. Each second was vital now and while Wyatt always thought he was the egalitarian sort where one life was not more important than another life, he forgot all about the fact that they were looking to save another woman. At this point, he hadn't registered that it had all been a trap for them.
"Emma," he said firmly and rolled her over so that she was on her back. "They're on their way, okay? You're going to be fine." He was trying to keep her conscious but there was a lot of blood pooling beneath her and he could see the edges of it starting to spread ou from under her body.
