Elijah sniffed a little bit and held his breath so that he could concentrate. "Stop," he said softly, waiting for the next click. "Stop," he added after a moment, and when Chancellor got to the next one he mumbled, "Stop. We need to let Murphy out first, his breathing is getting worse, I can tell," he told Chancellor as the man worked the cage open.
"Don't, it wasn't your fault," Reagan assured Liam. "You're here now, that's what matters, and I'm fine. God, you're a wreck, you haven't eaten or slept much, I can tell."
