ackerley. ([info]ackerley) wrote in [info]riddikulus,
When they had gotten to the front Stewart noticed that Charlie was acting just as tense as Melanie was. He could only notice, while Melanie was tripping over her words—something about the two of them doing something today—that Charlie was holding his bag so tightly that his knuckles were bone white. That was most definitely saying something since the Slytherin was very pale to begin with. Oh. Stewart grinned widely when he realized what was happening. Charlie obviously was nervous around Melanie, as was Melanie around Charlie. And from the Way that Melanie was tripping over her words something must have happened. Maybe through the journals, after all they could talk to people privately. He turned towards Melanie and raised one of his eyebrows. After all, how upset could she be at him? She was Melanie; she didn’t hold grudges for too terribly long.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about Melanie I’m not hungry at all,” Stewart tried not to smile and he turned towards Vaisey. “Besides I didn’t finish all my work for Astronomy, I think I should run off to the library, maybe try to catch someone to help me, yeah?” Stewart imagined Melanie’s face right now, and was expecting her to shove him or something to that extent, but luckily nothing of the sort happened.

“Anyway, I think you two should talk. After all I always say that communication is the key to…” the smirk formed on his face, as he put his hands on Melanie’s shoulders, avoiding her eyes, and softly pushed her in the general direction that Charlie was in, “good, healthy, relationships.”

Stewart nodded once and then walked briskly through the doors, holding his hand up in the air and waving goodbye to Melanie, without looking back. He would just go to a corridor or something. He couldn’t leave Melanie alone with a Slytherin, despite how nice he seemed, or the awkwardness between the two. He’d wait for Melanie—and her reaction to his betrayal. Stewart let out another laugh as he walked across the main entrance. This was much more fun than sleeping.
