Cepheus grumbled when he woke up and his father was standing at the end of his bed. He stared at him for a moment, then sat up and rubbed at his eyes. Seeing Draco Malfoy first thing in the morning was not a good thing. He sighed softly and sat up in his bed, then grabbed the glass of water he kept on his night stand.

"What are you doing here, Dad?" Cepheus asked with a small grumble. "What's wrong?"

James blinked down at Cepheus in shock. His father was Lucius Malfoy. That... was really fucked up. "Fuck," he said, pulling Cepheus closer. "That's fucked up. That... well, if I was your mum I'd probably want to lie about it too."

He pet at Cepheus's hair, kissing him softly. "You're mad at your -- at Draco for lying to you about it? I get that, I think."

"I'm furious. I've... I'm his brother." Cepheus wiped at his eyes and hid his face in James's neck. He took a deep breath and shook his head. "The man who is supposed to be my father is... He's my brother. And... I'm my sister's uncle... and her brother. I don't.... How fucked up is that?"

"Pretty fucked up," James admitted, holding Cepheus close as he pet his curly hair. "Really fucked up, actually." He kissed Cepheus's shoulder and sighed. "This makes the whole dirty pictures of us being published thing seem pretty fucking minor, doesn't it? At least there's that."

Cepheus sighed. "Apparently my Mum was really upset about it. My... There were pictures published of her with Rider and Lucius... punished her for them." He admitted, then sighed softly and shook his head. "She's afraid something bad will happen to me."

Pansy came back into the room where Draco sat with an ice pack on his face. She frowned for a moment, then moved to his side. "Where is Cepheus?"

James frowned, looking down at Cepheus. "I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you," he said. "Lucius Malfoy is dead and I'm starting to think he doesn't deserve that portrait of him in the hall of fallen teachers. This is so fucked up. I bet my parents are upset too, but I doubt they're home. My mum's a Quidditch correspondent for the Prophet and my dad's an Auror. But I guess you know all that. You're friends with Al."

Draco looked up at Pansy and sighed. She was probably going to hit him again. "Potter's house, I imagine," he said. "Cepheus didn't take the truth nearly as well as Scorpius. Then Potter showed up and took him away to cool down."

"Yeah. I know all that. I also know that your father doesn't like me very much." Cepheus sighed softly and rolled to James's side. He looked up at him, giving him a pathetic expression. "Why would he like me? My whole life I was lied to about who I really am. I'm a rape baby."

Pansy glared at Draco, her voice raising a bit. "You let him leave with Potter? What were you thinking? There are going to be people swarming them. I married an idiot!"

"Well, he doesn't know that," James pointed out, rolling onto his side so he could keep his hands on Cepheus. "And, I mean, it sucks and it's weird and traumatic, but you've got four parents who love you." James shrugged. "My dad was an orphan. His only relatives kept him locked in a cupboard under the stairs until his Godfather came and rescued him from them. And your mum is going to hate me after those pictures. It'll be easier for you with mine. I was the one on top. I look like I'm responsible for everything, so it's not like they can really blame you. I mean, the club and everything was my idea so it is my fault. I'll tell them that."

"Calm down." Draco put the icepack down on the table. "I'm assuming that neither of them is stupid enough to decide to walk down Diagon Alley today and that the Head Auror has some sort of ward system set up around his house. Cepheus was calling me his brother. If he'd stayed, he would have just stayed angry. He needed time to cool down, and when he is calmer he'll probably need to talk to his mother and hear that she still adores him."

"I'm not going to let you take the fall for it, Jam." Cepheus shook his head and leaned in, kissing James softly on the lips. He reached up and brushed his fingers softly through his hair and then sighed. "It's both of us. I love you being inside of me. It's just as much my fault as it is yours."

Pansy looked back at Draco and closed her eyes. "Of course I adore him. I can't blame him for what he's done. But, I will slaughter the people who did this to my baby."

"I'm older and I was on top," James pointed out. "They'll blame me for it anyway. Your mum probably thinks I'm a lecherous old perv who seduced you or something." He laughed a little, running his fingers through Cepheus's hair. "I'm sorry this happened. No matter whose fault it was. It shouldn't have. I should have known better than to have sex with you in public like that. Everyone knows who you are. Fuck. Why couldn't Al and your brother have done something even more scandalous? Like... had a threesome on the bar or something."

Draco smiled a little, touching Pansy's hand and then kissing her palm. "I've already got people looking into it," he told her. "I may specialize in magical contracts, but I'm still a solicitor. I can bring whoever it is up on charges. Or we could just send Rider after them."

Cepheus laughed at James and shook his head. "There is no way my brother would ever do that. And I'm not sure Albus has it in him. If we're being honest." He ran his fingers through James's hair. "Let's just run away together."

"Rider would murder them. You know how much he loves Cepheus." Pansy shook her head and let out a sigh. "Why can't Pyxis's daughter do something scandalous? Why do I have the children who get in trouble?"

"They might if we get them drunk enough first," James pointed out, grinning at Cepheus. "Al's a Gryffindor. You might be surprised. He managed to juggle two boys at once. I haven't even done that this year." He kissed Cepheus softly and sighed. "We can't run away. Then there will be search parties and publicity and everything will just get worse. I'm already waiting for teams to withdraw offers because of those photos. Professional sports aren't exactly known for being gay-friendly."

"I'm not sure I have a problem with Rider murdering them," Draco told Pansy, wrapping his arms around her and running his fingers through her hair. "It's only been this once so far," he said, trying to soothe her. "Scorpius and Xavier and Aurora haven't done anything."

Cepheus hadn't thought about that. He stared at James for a moment, then burst into tears. "I've ruined your life." He told him and shook his head, pulling away. "I've ruined the one thing you love. I feel like I should be punished or something. I don't have dreams and goals like you do."

"Yet." Pansy grumbled and shook her head. It was all too much. "I would slaughter Aurora if she ever thought of doing anything. But, she's the best out of the bunch, if you ask me." She hesitated. "I think Aurora should be heir."

James hadn't expected that reaction. He panicked for a moment, then pulled Cepheus tight to his chest. "Stop it," he ordered. "Fuck, Cepheus. It's not the one thing I love and you haven't ruined it. You were just telling me last night how I love everything." He tilted Cepheus's chin up and kissed him deeply. "You think I want to play for fuckers who don't think my talent is more important than my sexuality? I know I don't, so stop it. Take a deep breath. Nothing is going to stop me from being fucking spectacular on a broom and nothing is going to stop me from playing professionally so don't fret. Besides, like you said, we did this together."

Draco hesitated. He adored his daughter and he knew he had a tendency to play favourites with her, but... "Only if Scorpius and Cepheus turn it down first," he said, but gave Pansy a rueful smile. "You're right, though. She's the best suited for it. All the time she spends with Mum, and she can get anyone to do anything she wants. I know Scorpius is going to say no. He thinks of it as some kind of punishment. Cepheus has always done everything he can to set himself apart from his name, but he never expected to be heir, so I don't know. Maybe he'd like it. He deserves the chance to say so, even if Aurora's perfect for it."

"We may have done this together, but you're the one who is going to pay the biggest price. You love Quidditch." Cepheus looked up at James sadly, not feeling anymore calm by the boys words. "You want to play for the best team. Regardless. And I don't want you to resent me for making you lose a great opportunity."

"Cepheus doesn't want it anymore than Scorpius does." Pansy pointed out as she looked back at Draco. She sighed softly and looked him over. "He'd much rather be the heir to Macnair than Malfoy."

"Stop it, Cepheus," James ordered, running his fingers through the other boy's hair and then leaning in to kiss him for a long moment. "I don't resent you, and let's be honest. I was going to end up getting caught snogging someone somewhere I shouldn't have been eventually. I just thought it would happen after I got famous for my Quidditch skills."

Draco snorted softly. "You're right," he said. "I suppose I just don't want Cepheus to think he wasn't offered it because he found out he's technically my brother and not my son. Aurora's the only biological child I have." He ran his fingers through Pansy's hair. "Still. Five kids. That's a lot. The manor almost seems the right size for our family."
