Charlotte liked Valentine's Day a lot. Being one of a set of part-Veela twins meant that it was usually a good time for her. She got cards and chocolates and presents from lonely boys, but this year was even better because this year she had a real boyfriend and he was someone she'd fancied for a while. Things would have to be even more special than usual.

She smiled as she walked down the hall and caught up with said boyfriend, lacing her fingers with Evan's. "Hello," she said, smiling up at him. "Can I steal you? It's for a good reason."

Evan was worried about Valentines day. Not that he didn't have money for a present, but because he had too much money for a present. He was worried about buying something too expensive and looking desperate or something stupid like that. He just had a lot of feels.

When he felt her hand slip into his own, Evan turned and smiled at her. "I am yours for the borrowing, Miss Weasley." He leaned in and kissed her forehead. "I missed you."

	"You saw me at breakfast," Charlotte pointed out, smiling up at Evan. He was so good at this boyfriend thing. Other people weren't this good at it. "I missed you too." She started to tug him in the opposite direction they were going, towards the front doors. "I don't think anyone will be outside now. The coast seems clear. Are you going to be warm enough?" Charlotte shook her head and grinned at Evan. "It's a surprise," she said. "A surprise I really hope you like so I don't feel stupid."

She leaned against his side. "Because it's almost Valentine's Day and it's always all about the girl, so I wanted to do something for you so you know that I'm not just... I don't know. Sitting around expecting you to be amazing for me in return for my company, as wonderful as my company is."

"I'm glad. We spend a lot of time together. I've been slightly worried that I'm stealing you away from your friends," Charlotte admitted, looking up at Evan. "All my friends got boyfriends and now they're busy. Albus has been through two, I think. A lot of my friends are also my cousins."

She stopped with Evan outside the greenhouses. "Do you know how much Professor Longbottom adores you?" Charlotte asked him. "I asked him to hold on to your present for me and he gave me a big speech about how talented you are."

Charlotte nodded, opening the door to the greenhouse and leading Evan inside. She felt a little nervous. It wasn't like her family has a lot of money, not like Evan's, and her allowance was definitely modest. She couldn't afford anything too fancy.

She stopped with Evan and picked up the box she'd put her gift for him in. It was a miniature apple tree enchanted to move through all four seasons in four months and then repeat. "Just don't shake the box before you unwrap it," Charlotte said, holding it out to Evan. "I hope you like it."

	Evan grinned wide when she held out the box to him, taking it into his own hands. He leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. "It's not even Valentines yet." He pointed out, then began to unwrap the box. When he saw the tree, his smile grew even bigger. "This is.. Wow, Charlotte. This is wonderful." He smiled at her. "Is this enchanted?" Charlotte nodded, smiling down at the tree. "It's an apple tree," she said. "It'll do a season a month, and you'll get little miniature apples and everything. I thought... because you like gardening and looking after your vineyards you might like it."

She looked up at him. "Professor Longbottom hated me for putting it in a box and wrapping it. Which I only did this morning. It hasn't been in there long. I thought he might steal it if I didn't give it to you soon, so now it's yours."

"I don't know. Maybe it's a really strong eighth," Charlotte said, laughing softly and leaning up to steal a kiss from Evan. "I'm glad you're not under a spell. That means this is real."

She smiled when Evan kissed her forehead and touched her bum. "I know I won't be. I'll have you. No matter what else we do on Valentine's Day, that'll be enough to make it the best ever."

Charlotte loved the way Evan held her and touched her, like she was something precious. And like he wanted their bodies to be as close as possible. She hummed softly when Evan touched her arm, reaching up to play with the buttons on his shirt.

"I want to spend the day with you," she told him. "We can go to Hogsmede and spend the day together there. And... I like chocolates a lot." Charlotte laughed. "I like all sorts of sweets, really. I'm not that picky about them."

"Caramels and cherry cordials and chocolate cremes," Charlotte said, grinning at Evan and kissing his chin. She shifted, wrapping her arms around his neck and playing his his hair. "We are so good together. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe."

She pressed her face against his chest, smiling against his shirt. "Everyone else is going to be jealous of the way we fit together and I'm not going to care because it feels this good."

Charlotte laughed. "We probably shouldn't laugh at them. It's so unlucky for them to be stuck without what we've got," she said, leaning into the petting. "I like that you want us to be together for a really long time."

She leaned up and kissed him again, smiling against his lips. "We're disgusting. Louis is going to hate us when we spend Easter with our families at your house."

"Flirts with older men, mostly," Charlotte said, wrinkling her nose a bit. "And then does more than just flirt. I worry about him a lot, even if we fight. I just want him and Victoire to be happy."

She laughed when Evan started to dance with her, letting him lead. "Louis will hate that even more than he'll already hate everything else," Charlotte informed him. "My parents are going to love you."

Charlotte laughed when she was spun around, pressing close to Evan and kissing his neck. He was hers. She wasn't going to let anything get in the way of this. "He is, a bit," she admitted. "But Louis and Victoire are more... rebellious than I am, so I think we'll be okay. They'll make things easier for us."

She leaned in and kissed Evan's cheek. "Victoire's kind of... involved with our cousin and Louis's into older men. We're not related and we're the same age. You have an advantage over them. But don't mention the cousin thing when you meet my parents. Victoire hasn't said anything to them yet and she already hates me a little for telling her I thought it was a bad idea."

"More like me?" Evan repeated as he looked back at Charlotte with a grin. Maybe he'd been a good influence on her, but he liked to think she'd always been this sweet. He squeezed her hand as they walked, swinging them together slightly, humming happily at the thought that she was his. And he was good for her.

"Perhaps we compliment each other." Evan suggested as they reached the school. He opened the door for her, like a boss, and stepped in behind her. "We make each other better people."

"I like that idea," Charlotte said, smiling at Evan. "It means we're even more perfect for each other than I thought. And that's..." She laughed. "I didn't even know it was possible."

Evan was a gentleman and they were good together and obviously they were going to get married and have babies and normally Charlotte was pretty sure she'd feel smug about it, but she just felt happy now. "I mean it. Everyone is going to be so disgusted by how charming and perfect we are. I can't wait."
