Charlie stood in Malfoy Manor, placing the silver-paper wrapped gift he'd gotten for Draco. It wasn't anything spectacular. Just a silver pocketwatch with dragons engraved into it. It would do him well at his job at the ministry, which is what this party was for to begin with. He glanced at Rider. "When is Draco going to be here?"

"Soon." Pansy replied as she held Scorpius in one arm and Cepheus on the other. She smiled at the small pile or presents that were there. "I got him a strawberry-vanilla cake. I hope that's okay with him. It's what I'm craving." Which she didn't need to crave anything. She was as big as a house, pregnant with a Macnair.

Pyxis was wearing a sling on her arm and had a huge black eye from getting beat up at work. A man at a pub had hit her really good and thrown her across the room, breaking her arm in four different places. Now it was just sore. But, there were other things on her mind. She walked up to Rider. "I need to talk to you."

	"Cepheus is probably going to be a handful. He's spoiled by his mother." Charlie pointed out and then played with the tiny blond hairs on Scorpius's head. He looked at Draco. "How was work?" "Good. I think. I'm not sure I expected to actually like working for a living, but it was... nice," Draco said, taking some cake for himself and smiling at Charlie and Scorpius fondly. "And it means I'm not here with Pansy and Rider all day. I'd go mad. But I like magical law, and it's actually interesting. Maybe not to everyone, but I already know a lot about contracts just from the way I grew up."

"Complicated?" Rider shook his head. "If you love him, it's not that complicated. The only complication is if you're still thinking of getting back with your Quidditch player on the side. You've got to choose one or the other."

"No. It makes sense. I'm glad that you found a job you enjoy." Charlie assured Draco and then took a bite of the cake. He laughed when Scorpius reached up for cake too. He took just a tiny bit of icing on the top of his fork, then put it in the baby's mouth. "He's going to start talking soon."

"Luka and I are over. Our lives got too busy for each other." Pyxis pointed out and then sat down. "I'll go see Walden tomorrow. And we'll.. have to figure out something. I'm so stupid."

"God, I hope not," Draco said, snorting and looking down at Cepheus. "They have Rider around to teach them how to speak. Their first words are going to be... I don't know. Meat, or something. Cock, maybe."

"Yes," Rider agreed. "You are. All those years having sex with me and you never learned how to cast a protection spell? We're lucky your sister is the one having my kid and not you."

"Probably fuck." Charlie grinned at Draco and shook his head. "My first word was biscuit. I guess I just really wanted a biscuit." He hesitated, then leaned in and kissed Draco softly on the lips.

"That's not why I'm stupid. You are like... the worst friend." Pyxis looked up at Rider and laughed. "I just meant that I'm stupid for being so afraid of being with Walden."

"Mine --" Draco was cut off by Charlie kissing him. He kissed back, after a moment, even if they were both holding a baby. Draco laughed softly, pulling back and then reaching up to touch Charlie's cheek. "What was that for?"

"Why?" Rider frowned down at Pyxis. "He's the world's safest bet, Pyxis. He's loved you since he was fourteen, when I was still the one fucking your brains out every night. He loved you even after you left him. The only time he's ever gotten into a fight was over you. There's nothing to be afraid of."

"That was because I desperately needed to kiss you." Charlie told him and then smiled. "No other reason other than that. Well, also because you're so..." He laughed. "You're hot."

Pyxis looked back at Rider sadly. "I'm not good enough for him." She replied quietly, her voice barely a whisper. "He's so smart and so talented. He's going places. I feel like this baby is going to ruin him." She felt herself start to cry.

Draco laughed, glancing at Charlie's mouth again for a moment and then leaning in and kissing him a second time, eyes falling shut. He stopped when Cepheus made a sound in his arms though, pulling back and running a hand through his hair. "Sorry. I should stop trying to snog you while I'm holding a baby."

"Pyxis, you --" Fuck. Rider glanced around for Pansy or someone to come and help him with this, then looked at Pyxis again. "Pyxis... come on, don't cry." He touched her arms awkwardly. "You're going places too. Walden will be happy about a baby, are you kidding me? He'll love the thing."

Charlie made a soft noise against Draco's mouth, then smiled at him. "We'll have to talk about it more a little later?" He asked, then smiled as Pansy turned on some music, starting to dance with Scorpius in his arms.

"It's not a question of how much he'll love a baby. It's..." Pyxis looked up at him. "What if he let's it take over his life and doesn't live to his full potential? And then it'll be all my fault for getting knocked up and he'll resent me for the rest of our lives."

Draco nodded. "We can definitely talk about it more later," he said, looking down at Cepheus and holding him up in the air a little, watching him laugh and clap his hands. Cepheus was so easy to please. It was gratifying to hold him.

"Jesus, Pyxis." Rider frowned at her. "If Walden has you there, worried about that kind of thing happening, then I'm sure it won't. You'll be able to keep him on the right path. Right?"

	Charlie dipped Scorpius back and made the baby giggle, then pretended to bite at his stomach. He brought the baby back up, who hid his face in Charlie's neck. "I'd ask you to dance, but Kitten here is a good dance partner." "Well. Yes. But, still." Pyxis looked up at Rider and then shook her head. "Could you invite him here or something? "Kitten?" Draco repeated, laughing as he rubbed Cepheus's back and watched Charlie with Scorpius. He was so good with him. And it was true, Scorpius was moody with everyone else. Even if Scorpius had been the one with dark hair and not Cepheus, Draco could see Pansy favouring the other baby instead of him because of how often Scorpius cried. "Why are you calling my son Kitten? You're not allowed to call him Kitten."

"Me?" Rider frowned a little, then looked around the room. "Not right now, though, right? I can, but Pansy loves the idea of this party and Bill's supposed to come over and I should really be on hand to supervise Bill and Pansy's interactions. I don't care if he says he loves his wife. I don't trust him."
