James sat in the living room of the Burrow with his feet up on the living room table. Their Grandma was out, so he wasn't too worried about getting in trouble. Besides, the woman adored him. He was very good at charming his way out of any trouble with her, which was something most of the other cousins couldn't claim.

"Roxy, come here and help me decide who I'm gifting with an invitation to go out with me," he said, waving at his favourite cousin and best friend. "I got three Floo addresses at the Malfoy's party the other night."

Roxanne was James's best friend. And sometimes that came with unfortunate side effects. She rolled her eyes at him as she looked back from the sandwich she was making, then walked over with it in her hands.

"Who are they from?" She asked, biting down on the sandwich, taking more into her mouth than she could handle. "Any good looking ones?"

"They're all cute," James said, flipping through the addresses. "This one is that blonde Hufflepuff with the legs. This is one of the boys on the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team whose name I can never remember. This is that Slytherin in Al's year. The one with the tits?"

He held them out to Roxanne. "Maybe I should just put them in a hat and pull out a name." James laughed. "The Slytherin was a little drunk."

"You don't want to fuck around with a Slytherin." Roxanne pointed out as she sat down at the table. She put her sandwich in front of her and wiped her mouth off with her sleeve. "It's bad enough Albus is friends with one of them. Let alone you dating one. Which one is the Hufflepuff with the legs?"

"Good point. Fucking the enemy sounds appealing, but I think I'd get tired of it fast. They're all so smarmy. I don't know how Al handles being friends with one." James tossed the Slytherin's information away. "Hufflepuff. Legs. She's called Gemma or something?"

Roxanne frowned and grabbed the card. "Blonde and legs is mine. Go with the Ravenclaw. You need someone who makes you look like more of an idiot than you actually are."

She took another bite of her sandwich. "We should find Albus a boyfriend this year."

"Fuck off. I'm not an idiot," James said, but whatever. He was fine with having the Ravenclaw. He tucked it into his pocket. "But I'll take it. He was cute enough."

He made a face when Roxanne mentioned Albus. "Do we have to? I guess he can't on his own. His hair is terrible. Who would be good for him? Some Quidditch groupie?"

Roxanne snorted. She loved how offended James sometimes got. It was adorable. He thought he was so cute and so charming. She thought he was obnoxious and overbearing. But, that's why she loved him, she supposed.

"He can't on his own. Because he's too stuck on that Malfoy kid who will never love him back." Roxanne pointed out. "We've got to get him someone nice. A nice Gryffindor."

"He likes Malfoy?" James made a face. Roxanne noticed things he didn't. He put it down to her being a girl. "He -- wait. Which one? The Slytherin one? Not even the Gryffindor? Fucking Al. Bad enough he's friends with the git."

James didn't like the thought of his little brother fancying a Slytherin. Especially a stuck-up Malfoy Slytherin who apparently didn't fancy him back. "Well, we obviously need to save him from his crush. What a waste."

"I don't fancy any of them," James pointed out. "I just... spend time with them. Shag them. Charm them. Leave them. I can get a date, at least."

"No. You said it was bad for me. Why would I share with you now?" Roxanne teased as she pushed outside and took a look around. It was freezing cold outside, as it was nearly Christmas time and the snow had fallen all over the ground at Ottery St. Catchpole.

Roxanne reached up and tried to tame the evil mane that was her hair, then stuck the gillyweed between her lips and lit it with the tip of her wand.
