The last part I can totally agree with. I guess I'm just a bit of a cheerleader for exercising faith within a community environment.
Well, in the UUA, for instance, as long as everybody affirms the inherent worth and dignity of every person and is ready to support the rest of the congregation and encourage spiritual growth and the search for meaning, from whatever angle any person is looking for it, the details are flexible. All of them. My family's pretty old school, but a lot aren't, and Dad doesn't have so much of a moral authority as an availability to anyone who needs to talk.
