A statement contrary to document-able fact would indeed be defamation, or slander. However, opinions are not document-able fact. My statement regarding your unfortunate choice in attire falls squarely under opinion; I did not misstate color or shape or object worn. I simply deemed them to be horrible in my estimation. Therefore, as a statement of opinion it is not defamation or slander.
You have not been slandered. You may, however, require a dictionary.
