About:

Penny Dreadfuls is a super hero universe, here largely centered around the Alpha Academy, a school for a gifted children in multiple senses of the word. Super powered individuals, aliens, children from the world's 5 undersea communities, gifted intellects, children of associates with major super teams or others who are at a high threat level, etc.

All members of the community will have multiple characters, often one or more 'central' characters: teenagers who attend the Alpha Academy, and 'support' characters, such as school staff, best friends, love interests, younger or older siblings, etc. to central characters.

Part of the stated intent that differentiates this community is this 'support' mentality. While many super heroic rps will give you Spider-Man, you only occasionally see the MJs, much less the Aunt Mays, Flash Thompsons, Dr. Connors (pre-change) etc. that make up Peter Parker in the comics, the other side of the hero.

This is a low-stress environment mostly intended for rp for those who are up later hours than a lot of gamers. Plot running is strictly voluntary (but certainly encouraged). There's no real pressure to post, backlogging is welcome.

People who join late will be expected to get to know the current cast and come up with some supporting cast, but the current cast is also encouraged to help fill in for the cast of newcomers. Those who just want to do support for a while to get to know people are fine. For those who want a somewhat developed character or ideas handed to them, we also have those, just ask.
