RP Thread: Jamie and Malcolm
Malcolm hated being sick. He really hated it, but he tried to get through it without whinging too much. But there was always a point where Malcolm felt like melting into his bed and turning into a puddle of primordial ooze, composed mostly of germs and snot. He'd reached that point last night, had pulled himself into bed and curled up there, waiting for it to be over, except for getting up for the loo and sending an owl about a half hour ago to Jamie, begging for intervention in the form of entertainment and orange juice. He wasn't sure if he could drink orange juice, but it never failed to make him feel better after a bit, so he hoped that Jamie brought a lot.

He hated looking sick, so he managed to haul himself into the shower before Jamie showed up. He was just coming out of the bathroom in his underwear, drying his hair with a towel when Jamie arrived. Malcolm gave Jamie a pitiful look, but smiled. "You came!" he said with his hoarse voice, and ended up having a slight coughing fit. "I hope you brought a germ suit," he said before slouching back to his bedroom and crawling back under the covers, leaving his wet towel at the end of the bed. "I feel like shite. Better, clean shite, but still shite nonetheless."

Jamie glanced down at Malcolm's head briefly, then turned his attention back to his portfolio. He blushed a little at Malcolm's words and said, "Those are really expensive... You don't have to do that." Really, he didn't. Jamie would be happy with a card for Christmas, and he didn't really want Malcolm to spend so much on him.

"But... I was thinking about a flat that has two floors or at least two sections, so I could use one area as a studio slash gallery of sorts, have people come in and look around..." He trailed off as he carefully moved the sketch to display another of the back of the Leaky with the entrance to Diagon Alley partially opened. However, instead of opening into Diagon Alley, it opened out into what could only be described as a fantasy world with three moons in the night sky and a castle in the distance. Jamie blushed slightly.

"There's one that's actually got Diagon Alley on the other side, but it's further back, and it's not coloured like this one." He licked his lips a little. "I swear I don't draw just the Leaky and its patrons," he said, glancing at Malcolm a moment with a faintly sheepish grin.

"I know, but I'd want to," Malcolm said, leaving the part about how he didn't have much of anyone else to spend his money on and how he thought he should spend it on a bloke he fancied and liked spending time around. Making Jamie happy made Malcolm happy, and really, that was all that would be needed right?

Malcolm nodded with the description of the flat, it sounded like a good idea. "That sounds brilliant. Most artists would kill for something like that, for sure. You'll have to find it in a good location, too. Even if its got bedrooms and stuff, there are magical construction companies that can move walls and stuff for you."

He watched in fascination as Jamie turned the page, leaning in to look at some detail before snuggling back against Jamie's side. "That's really cool. Do you miss Hogwarts? Or is it that you just like drawing castles? And drawing Leaky and patrons isn't a bad thing, its what you know and what you see daily. I bet you see lots of interesting people."

Jamie decided to drop the topic of art supplies. He didn't want to fuss over it, especially with Malcolm being sick. He didn't want Malcolm to waste his money on him, but in the end, it was Malcolm's money to do with what he wanted. Still, that didn't mean he had to be comfortable with it or even expect it, but he'd not fuss over it anymore. At least, not for the time being.

"Yeah," he said about the location. "And I don't know if i have money to hirer construction workers. Not right away anyway." He had money saved, but he wasn't sure it was enough to include drastic renovations. He'd have to see once he found a place he liked.

Jamie shook his head a little. "I just liked the image and thought of a fantasy world existing just beyond a brick wall, sort of like how Narnia was at the back of a wardrobe," he explained, blushing lightly again. He then turned the page to display the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.
