It wasn’t that Evan lived in his own world, but he thought that it was necessary to make it perfectly clear to Sebastian that he had nothing to do with this. It wasn’t too crazy of him to go into detail about why it wasn’t him who started the rumor, since the jack ass was dumb enough to ask him if he was or not. For all Evan knew it was a legitimate concern of his. He wouldn’t be surprised, since he thought the man was a complete tool.
The fact that he had just told him to get over himself made him tilt his head again, a brow raised as he went on about how he hadn’t actually think he was part of the lie. He could tell that he was getting frustrated, and Evan didn’t give a damn whether or not he was the cause of it or not. Actually, he kind of hoped he was. It was just so easy to rile up a Gryffindor, but he did have to commend him for remaining so calm. Most of them would have been screaming at the top of their lungs like some sort of banshee by now. “How gallant. You really are her knight in shining armor, aren’t you? It’s quite charming, really.” He took another puff. “But I would like to remind you that Mackenzie is not the only one that’s going to have to deal with this problem, if this spreads like wildfire. There’s a good chance that no one is going to pay much attention to it, but I’d rather be prepared And while you don’t give a shit about that, it does make me involved.” He paused again, rolling his shoulders back once more; a sign of discomfort. “This isn’t about you and me. This is about Mackenzie, and how this will affect her.”
