[Emmeline ;D]
Bertram Aubrey had decided that perhaps dressing up a little wouldn't be a bad idea, so he'd tossed on a white shirt and a tie before he'd shrugged on his jacket. It wasn't as if he -- no, all right, that was a lie, he always hoped that something was going to happen with Emmeline, but really -- the girl had seemed down in the journals for some time now and he never said no to someone with as fine an ass as Emmeline had.

He apparated off the spot where he'd been standing and glanced up at the address scribbled down on the torn bit of parchment. All right, this was supposed to be the place. He lifted his hand hastily and gave a knock on the door, taking a breath.

Not that he was nervous.

The phrase she was looking for was 'skanky vibe'. The girls that Bertram went out with usually carried that 'skanky vibe'.

They were in fact on Dean Street in London. Considering the time of the evening and the club they were right in front of, Bertram would have thought that where they were was obvious. As it was, though, he merely grinned and offered her one of the tickets he'd managed to pick up.

Okay, by 'managed to pick up' he really meant 'scrambled madly for'. Emmeline had really seemed down lately and a girl as lovely as her deserved to be cheered up properly.

"You've heard of David Bowie, right? I mean, the whole 'New Romanticism' thing."

Okay, maybe the grin that he was giving her was just a little smug...

"I don't listen to muggle music, really."

Which was somewhat of a lie. Ellie and Anneliese knew all about the muggle music scene, and she'd even gone to a---oh, what was his name. It was a David too, she thought! David...David Cassidy, yes. That was back in sixth year, or was it fifth? One of those, it was terrible how all of her time at Hogwarts was beginning to meld into one big blur.

"But I suppose if you enjoy him," Emmeline said, her tone dripping with sarcasm though she was smirking a bit. This was good for Bertram; most days she would expect to simply be taken to a couch to snog on or just a--solid surface. She tugged on his arm to head toward the entrance, interested in what the night held.

Honestly, Emmeline, if Bertram had thought that taking Emmeline to a couch to snog would work with the girl then he'd probably have done it in a snap. As it was, though, he did not have much faith in his odds if he just left them to that.

He took her arm and tugged her in toward the club, rolling his eyes. "I happen to be on the up-and-up when it comes to any music," Especially since Muggle music was one of the few things that most Wizards didn't have a problem having in their lives. Besides, yes ... he did like David Bowie an awful lot.

"First drink is on me, naturally," He murmured absently as he headed toward the bar, glancing to the stage. Just the opening band.

Emmeline lifted her chin with her smile, slipping onto a chair at a small table as Bertram disappeared. Ah, the alcohol. St. Patrick's day was a giant green blur to Emmeline, and while she wasn't very proud of the excursion (that ended with Elphias taking her home and waiting on her couch for a few hours to see if she actually woke up), it had definitely given her that time away from her thoughts that she so desperately needed.

Of course, it helped that the rest of the Order had gotten completely sloshed, and she didn't have to embarrass herself in front of them.

When he returned, Emmeline didn't waste any time in taking hold of the glass. She refrained a few moments before drinking, but holy hell, was she glad for it. "Is this Bowie character any good? What kind of music did you say he played?"

Nobody had to answer for what happened on St. Patrick's day no matter who it was (except perhaps the exes of the girls he'd dated, because for some reason he always felt irrationally jealous ... not that he'd ever bring something like that up).

Bertram had already had the foresight to ask the bartender for something that would keep a girl happy while keeping the bloke with her happy too ... so hopefully her drink was completely stellar. He'd settled for a hi-ball, himself, not wanting to get 'beer mouth' in case snogging should occur.

Well, when snogging occurred. When Emmeline asked about Bowie, he flashed her a bigger smile.

"Oh, too right. He'd bloody fantastic, it's uh -- New Romanti-something. That's what the muggles call it, at least."
