Slug Club Party! Open to Everyone
Rebecca smiled tightly as Professor Slughorn finally left her grasp, and she wiped at her eyes. Oh, this was terrible! Professor Slughorn had been her absolute favorite, and as a head of house, you couldn't ask for more! Rebecca had constantly gone to him for career advice, life advice, and just to talk, and yes--he was a bit stuck in his ways, but it wasn't a bad thing to want to make good connections. He knew how to truly be a Slytherin, and she was sad that he was leaving his post.

She should be happy that he was leaving the same year she finished her education at Hogwarts, but knowing that the Potions Master was not going to be in the dungeons come September constantly reminded Rebecca that she would not be in the school after June. It was a terrifying thought, being a Hogwarts graduate. Rebecca was sure she was ready for her internship, but for the rest of the real world? She wasn't so sure.

There had been whisperings at the last family dinner, about proper suitors and all that..

She sighed greatly and lingered by the drinks, her eyes casting over the various punch bowls. Everyone looked lovely, and she would normally be in a twitter about the celebrities that roamed the Great Hall, but at the moment she could only be melancholy.

Seth really didn't know why he showed up to this stupid party, except for the fact that there was free drinks and free food, which often tempted him out of his house. That and Savannah had seemed very excited when he asked if she had wanted to go. Somewhere in the night Seth had lost his wife in the crowd, leaving him alone to mingle and be assaulted by the quidditch fans in the crowd, most of them still in school. School was such a long time ago and it felt weird to be back. He sighed looking around the room. His eyes narrowed when they landed on his teammate. He downed his drink before going to look for another and Savannah. After there last conversation, he really didn't feel like dealing with her and her new behavior. She hadn't noticed him yet but he definitely noticed her... and her dress, that could definitely double as a shirt. And since when did she have legs like that. Seth shook the thought out of his head before attempting to slink away before noticed. Had she no decency? Really, there were school children here. She was probably trying to get back at him. We he wasn't going to let it work.

Odette had gotten use to the feeling of being watched by people a long time ago, so it was by chance that she glanced over to see Seth Wadcock staring a bit away from her. Well that was... strange. Maybe she still had time--- no, nope, they had just made eye contact, it was impossible to ignore him now. Odette felt an internal groan fill through her as the deep desire to suddenly leave filled her to her inner core. But, she couldn't, because she had to keep up this... ridiculous routine that was apparently the only way to keep him away from her, and leave her alone. But of course, how appropriate it was that she had to make him think that she liked him to get him to finally leave her alone.

It was sick, and wrong (technically he was married), but the last two weeks had been her most peaceful without him bothering her through gossip or any other way so... the prices she paid for peace was steep. Luckily Drystan and Noah were still on probation with her and therefore she was still not talking to either of them, so she wouldn't have to worry about either of them getting the wrong idea about this.

Well. She handed her empty drink to a passing waiter, only to swipe another full one as she walked. It was unfortunate that there would be no level of drunkenness that would make this easy for her. But support through liquor did help greatly.

"Hello Seth," Odette said once she finally reached him, an light smile on her face despite how forced it truly was. Saying his first name felt so wrong.

Seth cringed slightly when Odette came up behind him, but was quick to hide it. Since when did she seek him out? It was fun when a mere hello to her got under her skin and made her bristle. Ever since he arrived to Montrose, she had an aversion to him. He didn't do anything but become her captain, so yea he took advantage of the fact that he could piss her off. It was amusing.

Its not like he didn't want to be not friendly with her but she just made it so easy. And he did try to be nice at first, but quickly gave up when it wasn't working. Now she had this complete mental mood swing and Seth had no idea what to think of it. Other than she was up to something.

"MacFarlan." He said barely acknowledging her, and definitely not looking her way.

Well then. If he wasn't even going to look at her, then she at least could more downing her entire drink in one gulp without breaking the show. Odette pulled her lips back for a second, running her tongue between them inside her mouth.

Maybe enough damage had been done. Maybe it was possible that everything previous had been enough to get him to stop bothering her once and for all, maybe--- no, who was she kidding? For all she knew, he could be playing the exact same act she was, but simply from a different angle, which meant he wanted her to stop so then the process of them would start all over again, but worse!

She could not let that happen.

Odette again placed her empty drink on a passing waiter's plate. Flipping her hair behind her shoulder, she took a deep breath and moved to stand in front of him, forcing him to look at her. The least he could do was look at her. She was putting in too much effort into this whole thing for him to just--- ignore her. No one ignored her.

"How are you?" she asked intently, placing a hand on her hip. Good thing she had decided to wear the most inappropriate dress she owned tonight: that would help her to her advantage.

Seriously. This whole situation was just to weird for Seth. Yes there was some phrase along the lines of 'don't give it out if you can't take it' or some shit, but he really couldn't give a fuck. What did he want from him really? She had been begging him to leave her alone for months and finally he was, partly due to her weird mood swing and a little more to due with the fact that Savannah was looking into the press a little to much, and now here she was forcing herself into his sight line and making small talk.

He looked down at her only to be captivated yet again by the fact that she was wearing hardly anything. Face. Look at her face. He quickly reminded himself. You have a wife, and her cleavage is much nicer. Not to mention MacFarlan is a complete bitch on her normal days.

"Faring pretty well, I suppose. Not much to do in the off-season, so here I am at an old teacher's retirement party." Seth took another long sip of his drink, congratulating himself at keeping his answer short and mundane. "Although the teenage girls ogling me is quite tiring. I'm thinking I might bail once I find Savannah."

He wasn't going to make this easy, was he? Not that she expected him to, but it would have been welcomed.

She supposed that since he was barely talking to her, that meant he was trying to resist her, which meant that this whole absurd matter was working. Odette couldn't help but smile at that--- and at how uncomfortable he was acting. Where was the childish Wadcock Odette had gotten to know so well over the last year, hm? Preparing to take a permanent vacation? Well how terrible that was to hear. The thought alone that she would forever overpower him completely willed her to continue.

"Imagine how hard it is when grown men openly ogle at you," Odette responded in a coy manner, her head turning to the side innocently as she spoke. Of course she noticed his little slip--- but that wasn't her fault.

For a second, she felt a twinge of guilt at what she was doing--- no doubt his wife would be enjoying any of this, but-- don't handle what you can't dish out! She had more than once warned, implied, demanded, and screamed for him to leave her alone, so--- this was really all his fault, and he had no one to blame but himself.

"I would love to meet her, by the way," Odette stated, taking her hand off her hip as she spoke. "Savannah." Just to clarify. She wondered how long it would take him to simply sprint away. Odette would embrace that.

"Oh and here I thought you were welcoming it, seeing as you forgot the rest of your outfit at home" He let out scathingly. Really, just what was she trying to do. Nothing ever made her happy, did it? He finished off his drink and put it down rather roughly on a passing waiter's tray earning him a pointed glare.

Messing with him was one thing, but having her bring Savannah into things really pissed him off. Seth never openly flirted with Odette, well only after those rumors starting, but that was in more of a 'this is so fucking ridiculous' teasing sort of thing that worked to piss her off even more than usual.

But now everything was just getting out of hand.

"As lovely as that idea is, I don't think it will be happening anytime soon. I wouldn't want to subject my wife to the same torment I'm force into."

Odette couldn't stop herself; her jaw dropped in shock at Seth's bitting comment. Since when--- why did he care how she dressed? And who was he to even say anything about it at all? Granted-- not--- but--- that wasn't fair! Odette stood stock still in front of him, her thoughts going back to how she had decided a few weeks ago that he was secretly in love with her.

Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. While treating her teammate this way had been working to her advantage for the past few weeks, she didn't want him to--- do anything stupid. Or get the wrong idea. She really didn't want him thinking about her at all, aside from ways of how to stay away from her.

With an uncomfortable feeling beginning to settle in her stomach, she suddenly realized that she should have brought Noah tonight.

Eventually, Odette managed to clip her jaw shut tightly, but words were still beyond her. Drystan had to be here by now, and never had she felt the deepest urge to suddenly go and hide behind the huge person that he was more than now.

But-- this wasn't fair! He was allowed to say whatever he wanted to her without any problem, but the second that she throws it back at her, it completely blows up in her face because--- ohh, she hated him. Hated him.

"----" Her arms moved in front of her body as she attempted to speak. Words, words, she really needed words at this point.

"How nice of you to care," Odette finally deadpanned. She really should have brought Noah.

"Oh I really don't, actually" Seth said matter-of-factually. In the span of the past fifteen minutes he had grown extremely tired of all the games they were playing. Maybe from now on he'd just ignore her, except in practice and in games, when it was completely necessary to talk to her. "I'm just annoyed you had the nerve to complain about it."

He looked down at her again, his face fixed with a frown. It was almost hard to not smirk at the fact that he had gotten under her skin within mere seconds of trying. It was far to easy. It was getting boring. He was definitely going to find something else to amuse himself with.

"Anyways, I do believe I see my wife, so I must be off. Have a good summer, I don't expect I shall be seeing you until practice starts up again."

And that was why she hated Seth Wadcock.

Odette felt a deep rage replace all emotions she had previously been feeling, though surprisingly, she was able to keep a calm demeanor while she stood in front of him. Well wasn't he just the nicest bastard she had ever met. A scowl appeared on her face, and Odette had no problem showing her distaste for him entirely now. Screw--- whatever plan she had before, it was back to square one with them as far as she was concerned.

As he shifted to move away, she reached out to stop him, her hand latching onto his shoulder. She would leave first, thank you very much, since he was so inclined to fuck with her in any way possible.

"Please, let me," Odette hissed, her nails digging into him as she spoke. She severely doubted he would keep to his word (as if he even had legitimacy), but that certainly wasn't stopping her from continuing to stay away from him as much as possible. With a little bit of force, she pushed him away from her as she walked away, purposely not looking at him as she walked away.
