Noah, who didn't have much sense when it came to panic and fear, turn around and grabbed Lyssandra by the shoulders. A free-fall all stampede up the steps, which were still shaking and wobbling from the shock, would not make any sense. He just---he quickly looked up to the door and then back at Lyss. "I'll go!"
She seemed a bit more banged up than he was, and he was the bloody guy here, he had to take some responsibility. He was the owner, too! She had to listen to him. Noah gripped her shoulders tightly, because he knew how stubborn she was, "Look, go send out an owl or something, check the doors, and I'll get the kids and we'll head out, okay?"
He really didn't want to clamber up those steps, but if they both got hurt going up, then Terry and Emily would be stuck by themselves for who knew how long. Noah knew that much, and let go of Lyssandra.
