Desmond
Skylar couldn’t believe the time, when she had first looked at the clock. Her heart had nearly jumped out of her chest as she scrambled out of the bed she had been laying in, gathering her clothes before digging out her shoes. She had only supposed to have been with her last night’s client until the early hours of the morning, but after the night he had put her through, she was a little…worn, and hadn’t noticed how late it had gotten. It was 7:38 in the morning, when she had first opened her eyes, and it had taken her about 20 minutes just to get the man to finally pay her – he wanted her to stay longer, and wasn’t at all happy about how she was rushing away.

It was already 8:33 when she was finally able to get to Desmond’s apartment building, and she was still wearing the clothes she had been wearing the night before, and she had to make a pit stop or 2 along the way just to make sure she made up for being late to his doorstep. One stop was made to pick up a special type of Syrup, to go with the Pancakes he was supposed to have been making (it was her favorite brand of strawberry – her mouth watered at the thought of tasting it again), and the other was to pick up something to wear there, and hopefully, if Desmond was kind enough, an outfit to change into after a very much needed shower.

After last night, she definitely felt dirtier.

It was 8:40 when she had been able to leave the woman’s bathroom, changing out of the dress and heels she had been wearing, putting them now in the shopping bag that was in her hand. Now in a pair of jeans and an oversized t-shirt, Skylar, or ‘April’ as Desmond had known her after all these years, waited impatiently in the elevator, her ears perking up when she heard it ‘ding’, letting her know she was on the right floor. Escaping the small metal box, she walked hurriedly down to Desmond’s door, and gave a quick knock.

“Desmond? It's April...”

She called through the door, to let him know it was her. She felt her stomach twist, nervous that he would turn her away because she was almost an hour late.
