His visit to Magpies Stadium did not end with the usual headache. Henry was silently pleased about his brother's efforts to stay out of the tabloids, especially since he was becoming involved with someone. Seth had shown he was far from capable of focusing on more than one thing at a time, so the fact that he was performing well on and off the field made Henry start to think that his brother was actually beginning to respect him as his agent.

Or this girl had him seriously whipped.

Either way, Henry was glad for it, and he pulled his scarf tighter around his neck as he headed toward the floo ports of the stadium. It was much easier than apparating across the bloody country, but there was usually a line of employees trying to get home that kept him there for a good half an hour before one opened for him. Fortunately he must have just missed the rush (or had beaten it) because there were only a few people waiting to catch the floo.

A woman on the next line looked terribly nervous, and Henry wouldn't have bothered to notice if he hadn't recognized her face from this morning's papers. She was the new Magpie---Cadwallader? Victoria. Henry had groaned at the sight of another pretty blond that was going to be running around his testosterone filled brother, but now he saw an opportunity. Maybe he could put her off of the idea of Seth before his brother had the chance to think about her in any other way---though with Seth's history, that was unlikely.

"Miss. Cadwallader?" Henry stepped off the line and mentally noted that he was going to have to push back his drinks with some other clients tonight. He stuck out his hand, "I'm Henry, Seth Wadcock's agent. Welcome to the Magpies."

She still couldn't believe that they used some sort of ridiculous fireplace to get around over here. If she'd known that -- well, to be honest, she probably would have still come over, but she'd have made sure that she brought a full-body rain slicker over with her. She frowned, wringing her wrists.

When she was approached by someone, she half-expected it to be another reporter. They really weren't kidding when they said that Quidditch was bigger over here than it was back at home. It was big with the fans in Saskatechwan, but it was definitely not very big with the papers (except the dedicated Quidditch rag). She was almost relieved to hear that he was just an agent. She flashed him a bright grin anyway and then nodded.

"Does he really need to be kept on a leash? I mean, he didn't seem that bad..." Then again, because the fans were so huge in Saskatchewan it was a lot easier to get away with things ... or so she'd been told. Her mother had warned her to be 'on her best dang behavior' before she'd left.

Ha.

"And it's good to meet you, Henry. You look enough like Seth that you could be brothers, you know!" Although she'd only gotten a look at Seth through the pictures she'd been able to scrounge up. She took his hand for a firm shake.

"I'm really going to have to improve my apparation. I don't know if I can do this every day," she said, motioning to the floo.

Henry smiled and shrugged; he really hated being known as 'Seth Wadcock's brother' and no matter how many good deals he struck for his clients, that's how the papers referred to him, if he was actually mentioned at all.

"That's what they say!" he let out a laugh as if it was quite a nice remark. "And Seth's managed to straighten out his life quite a bit since his wild days--" Henry put a hand up to his mouth, as if sharing a secret, "--a lot of people don't know it, but he was really depressed about his divorce, caused a lot of stress."

Which was a lie, a big, bold-faced lie. If Seth had been more upset about his failed marriage, then maybe the trouble he'd gotten into would not have occurred, so it was at least a good enough cover up for those crazy days his brother had for nearly a year.

Henry eyed the floo ports, an eyebrow going high, "Flooing? It's not so bad after the first few times. If you've got far to go, it's better to make a stop or two before you get home. I've got to get to London, so I usually stop in Liverpool before I get back in. Where are you heading?"

"I've got to get going home to unpack. Pretty much everything is still in boxes. I mean, it took me twenty minutes to find underwear this morning." Just in case he'd really needed to know that.

She shrugged her shoulders, though. "I was thinking of getting some food before that, though. I've had the worst craving for a big stack of pancakes with greasy sausages since I got here, and it's only been a week since I've gone without mom's. So weird, right?" Spending time with her family at home was something that she did on a very regular basis -- she had a good relationship with most of her siblings and with her parents as well.

She didn't comment about Seth - as long as the player wasn't compromising the quality of their game, Victoria didn't see much reason to pry into their personal lives and make them stop whatever they were doing. Merlin knew that she (and Vinny, at some point) had done some pretty hilariously childish things on the prairies of Saskatchewan.

"You don't know anywhere I can eat, do you? I mean, in Liverpool maybe? Since I'm supposed to make a stop or two first." Not that she was confident she wouldn't be nauseous after flooing.

Henry clapped his hands, a great idea striking him immediately, "I know a place that makes fantastic breakfast right here in Montrose---you should learn the area since you're going to be here so much."

He jabbed his thumb over his shoulder to get Victoria to follow him off the line. This was good. She was nice enough, it seemed, and maybe naive when it came to the ways of the media here in the U.K. Henry was quite aware that the quidditch players across the pond were often compared to the Gobstone champs here. Did she come because of the paycheck, or was she looking for stardom? Maybe just bored of the lackluster league over there?

Who knew, and he would have to find out if he was to keep her interested and maybe, maybe get involved in some of her future business ventures. Did she have an agent? Henry hadn't heard anything; his sly ways around the quidditch world were going to come in handy.

"It's only a short walk from here, completely decked out in Magpies paraphernalia---we can pick a spot for your jersey and highlight posters."

She hadn't been expecting him to invite her to breakfast, but that seemed like what was happening at that moment. Victoria considered her options: go home and eat something that was probably going to end up being stale crackers, or go out with a not-so-bad looking gentleman for breakfast.

He seemed mostly interested in business, anyway. Surely it was harmless. She nodded, following him out of the line with a pleased grin. They were probably going to have pancakes, so this would turn out to be even more fortuitous. "You mean they actually put jersies out in restaurants here? At home it's mostly in the hunting lodges and a couple of the better-known pubs." In truth, she'd come in large part to see Vinny. It wasn't as if they had done anything at home, but she still wanted to make sure that he was -- all right, and her mother had been so proud that she'd been drafted into the bigger league that she hadn't been able to even think about saying no.

She resisted the urge to link arms with him as they walked out into the cold. "It's rather nice out here, you know."

"Oh, absolutely---spending more time in Montrose is one reason why Seth and I teamed up."

Henry would refrain from telling Victoria that he was practically bribed into taking the job, that no other agents wanted to deal with the mess his brother had created for himself. Adding to the fact that the Magpies administration had nearly doubled his usual signing salary, Henry really couldn't have said no.

Seth probably knew about all that, that Henry needed to be nearly bribed to take on the job, but what his brother didn't need to know was that---things weren't so terrible. He and Seth still weren't on the best of terms, but Henry could actually tolerate his brother. More like---he liked spending time with his niece, really, because she wasn't ridiculous like her father and she was family. He'd try to help her become quite the Slytherin, of course.

Victoria was quite nice; their talk during their short walk to the restaurant was nice and fast-paced. There wasn't a moment of awkward silence, but whether that was her nerves keeping her chattering or his mind being set into business mode, Henry wasn't sure. He pushed the doors of the restaurant opened and grinned immediately when he saw a waitress drop a tray of food at the sight of them---or, well, Victoria.

"Ah, see---" He pointed over the bar at the sparkling new display that was flashing images and facts about the Magpies' newest flier, "They already love you."

She was pretty sure that the other reason was because they were related, but he hadn't seemed keen to have that much brought up. She stepped into the restaurant after Henry and blinked when the waitress dropped her tray of food -- that was going to be an awful mess for her to clean up. Victoria shifted forward quickly to help her with the majority of the cleaning spells, then turned back to Henry.

Growing up with her mother and several messy siblings meant she'd learned to clean up after herself, and this was -- in a way -- her fault. She looked up at the rather large display and tried very hard not to look impressed. Sure, Quidditch was a big deal at home ... but liked she'd mentioned to Henry earlier, people tended to take their fanaticism to a personal level rather than a public one like this.

"I'm sure they're just excited for the team to have a new member," she managed with a slight ducking of her shoulders. She'd have to try and look more ... discreet, so that she didn't cause any more messes.
