Wedding Guests!! Weeee!
Carys was glad to finally put those dance lessons her mother had forced her to take to some good use. Her dress twirled quite nicely with the waltz she and Drake opened up the dance floor with, and Carys found herself quite impressed with her husband. Her husband. Ha! That was something Carys never thought she'd think, or say, or have. She'd been very content in just living life day to day, but the idea of having someone to be there along the hopefully long way was awfully nice. And Drake was awfully nice to look at too, so that helped a lot.

Of course she hadn't agreed to marry him (because he'd asked her! She'd never let him live that down) just because he was handsome, even if she was sure to rub that into her sisters' faces at every chance. There were other factors that led her to accept, but those thoughts and words were for quiet times when she was feeling overly emotional and not for the dance floor.

The song gracefully slid into a slower tune and this time more couples joined the newlyweds (holy hell!) on the dance floor. Carys smiled at their guests, glad that they'd been able to make it and even happier that they all looked to be having a good time. Her head tilted up to smirk at Drake, ready to make some hilarious comment about Martin and the fire dancers, but Carys found herself at a loss for words as the secret she'd been keeping since right before she put on her dress came back to the forefront of her mind.

Instead she just smiled and dropped her head to his chest, not wanting to ruin the night.

Savannah felt like an absolute idiot when she found herself getting misty eyed during the quaint ceremony, smiling as she watched the two exchange their vows and be pronounced as husband and wife. She was positively honored to be part of the small, private wedding, and hugged her best friend tight once she was officially ‘Mrs.Drake Parkin’, only letting go to give her husband a hug of his own – that, and a warning that he better take care of her, or she’d make sure that the next article about him that got published in Witch Weekly would make mention of some sort of mysterious rash seen in the locker room.

She didn’t even realize that the last wedding she had been to had been her own, but that didn’t exactly count. It hadn’t been a ceremony – she hadn’t had any friends or family there as witnesses. Looking back at everything, she realized what a big clusterfuck the entire thing had been, from beginning to end, wondering how on earth she didn’t see the end of their marriage coming.

If you had told her a year or two ago that being divorced was the best thing that could have happened to her, Savannah would have probably smacked you. Now though, as she sat at a table beside Geoff Brand, she found herself smiling to herself as she thought about how stupid she had been for so long, dwelling on the past instead of moving on so she could be happy – which she was.

She was happy. Ever since she had started dating him, she found herself smiling for no reason at all. Just the thought of seeing him later on in the day made her lips turn upwards, and then when she was actually around him, it was just…it was good. It was more than good, really.

Her fingers were idly playing with the necklace around her neck as she looked over at him, watching his profile as he had a conversation with someone else. She noted the way his eyes crinkled at the sides when he laughed, and how his hands moved when he talked. Eventually whoever it was he was talking to walked away, and she would lean forward towards him, she cupped her chin in her hand as she propped an elbow on the table.

“Making friends, are we?”

"Well, you know us Brands -- we've got to make sure that our reputation is secure." He glanced over his shoulder toward Maggie at that comment, hoping that she'd forgiven him for -- well, she'd misinterpreted it as him telling her that she wasn't allowed to feel sexy after her pregnancy. He just hadn't wanted the media to put words in her mouth or make her look bad. He knew how much -- well, gasoline was soaking some of the bridges of her life, and all it would take was one hot-tempered comment from someone to light it on fire. Particularly, he was worried about what would happen if someone found out about who Josef's father really was.

He laughed, hoping to cover up any worry that might've been creasing his features. He didn't need to bring down the mood of the wedding with his fuddy-duddy inclinations. He slipped his arm around her waist. "You're enjoying yourself, I hope? I feel like this place calls for some tropical drinks, even if I'm not the type to indulge too much. Do you think it makes me less manly if I want something with a tiny umbrella?"

Savannah’s eyes followed his over his shoulder to look over at Maggie, only giving a light sigh as she recalled all the drama that had gone on before the wedding between the siblings. Her eyes were still on his sister when he turned back to her, though she smiled up at him immediately when his arm was around him. She had been spending enough time with Geoff to recognize when a laugh was forced, but she knew he was just trying not to put a damper on things. She appreciated it, but she turned to wrap her own arm around his back, pulling herself closer against him.

Her laugh was very much a genuine one as he asked his second question about tiny umbrellas. “Well, that all depends…were you going to drink it with your pinky up?” She shot a playful grin up at him before she turned to look out at everyone else who was around them. Eventually she turned a little more into him, so that she was hugging his side.

“And yes, I’m enjoying myself…very much so, actually.” She turned her eyes up to look at him. “It was a beautiful ceremony, wasn’t it?”

"I don't think I'd drink it with my pinky up on purpose, but I'm sure that someone would manage to get a picture of it if I did happen to pop it up in the middle of a hand gesture or something like that." He didn't think he'd mind so much, really, if that was the worst publicity that he got.

Considering some of his past indiscretions, particularly with gambling (he'd been so good lately, but the itch was starting to come back) he couldn't afford to take any risks.

He nodded, letting his arms drape loosely around Savannah's waist. "It was, really."
