Odette!
It wasn't that Noah was completely incapable of taking care of his children, but he really did not know how to dress little girls for ballet. That was Estella's first hint that something was up with the Boots, so after she showed Noah how to lace up Anna's tiny slippers and how to do a proper little bun, she applied a little bit of her Slytherin pressure on the man. It was easy to break, and while Estella didn't know why Odette was holed up in Drystan Fawcett's house, but she planned to find out.

Drystan's wife did not seem too pleased to have yet another visitor at their rather reclusive home, but she put on a good face when Estella arrived, and being the nice person that she was, Estella had brought over a bottle of wine for the Fawcetts; they were taking care of her best friend, after all. The wine had come from a rather large basket of drinks, crackers, cheeses---all that would be necessary for a rather intimate girls' evening. Estella had not been the one to comfort Odette for a long time, and especially when it had to do with a fight with Noah. The two had such a way of keeping the other in check that it was very surprising to hear that something had caused Odette to leave the home.

"Knock, knock," Estella said, pushing into Odette's room without waiting for an answer.

She wasn't hiding, this wasn't hiding! It was expertly avoiding-- it wasn't even that! Odette leaving with the children had been a necessary move for space, space to think, and it continued to be that way. Now it was just... different, with a hint of bitterness and unwelcome mixed in by her estranged husband. So if anything, staying at Drystan and Bess' had turned into a place that she was stuck in, feeling unable to go or do anything else. Not hiding.

The glass had begun to knock against Odette's head after she did not take it, and so she roughly picked it out of the air. Fine it/Estella wanted to get her drunk, fine. She would be lying if she said that drinking wouldn't subdue her turbulent thoughts as of late.

Her sudden emotions got the best of her, and eventually Odette did respond. "I'm not hiding," she spoke vehemently, still unsure of what Estella really knew. Not... enough, or at least not the truth if Noah had her thinking she was staying here because she was hiding. "There's just no one where else to go," she said, pressing her lips to the rim of her glass that was now leaning against her leg.

She did not want to talk about this, she did not want to! And it was just--- Odette suddenly felt seized, as if she had just realized this might be her only opportunity to let all her emotions out. She had cried to Drystan when she had first arrived, but.... it wouldn't be the same, with Estella. Drystan was friends with Noah too, and while Estella and he were too, Odette would like to think she was more hers than his.

"What did Noah say to you?" Odette asked sadly, using her free hand to pick at her free.

Estella was a horrid, terrible liar. She was quite sure that Dolores or Juliana had jinxed her at a young age, making her unable to tell a fib with a straight face. While she often bounced around the truth, Estella found that just stating facts made her life easier, even if it wasn't the nicest of truths. In this situation however, she didn't actually know much, so it was easier to behave calmly and keep her nerves at bay.

"He said you've been staying here," Estella said, twisting her lips as she concentrated on the memory from a few hours ago. She didn't want to cause further trouble by misquoting Noah. She took a drink to help herself out. "That the two of you are going through something personal."

Was that all he had said? It was more his tone, his posture, the bags under his eyes that had told Estella how serious things were between the couple. Noah wasn't a very social person by nature, but his demeanor spoke volumes. She'd watched him change, evolve since Odette began dating him, and it was almost like he'd reverted back to the anti-social man she'd been introduced to him as (only coming out of his shell with his future wife).

She stretched out her legs and crossed them at her ankles. This needed to be as relaxed as possible, she was sure.

"I'm not going to pry," Estella promised, "but you don't have to deal with whatever this is on your own."
