Axe's Anniversary of Birth!!!!
Charlie was pretty sure he'd missed out on a wonderful career as a party planner. As he stared out at the dance floor, which he stood over on a platform where the DJ was spinning a mix of wizard and muggle music (even with some popular French songs that were actually pretty catchy if Charlie said so himself). He wasn't surprised at how many people showed up, but it still nearly startling to see how bloody happy everyone was to be there! Sure, some looked ridiculous with the fake mustaches that were passed out (not required, obviously), but a lot had actually grown out their beards and it was----cool, they tried, they wanted to be there and they wanted to have a good time. Charlie wanted to have a good time.

The Kestrels were not top of the pack, and while he believed in his team completely, the stress of the numbers had been getting to them. A night like this was necessary, and maybe it could rejuvenate the team that had lost some valuable members this season and had done a bit of shifting around. They were still trying to get themselves into place, and it needed to happen faster than it was.

Plus, Axe had been pissy all week that no one had acknowledged the anniversary of his birth.

Charlie grabbed the mic from the DJ and grinned, enjoying colorful scene laid out in front of him. funkybuddha club had been a perfect choice for the night, "Don't everyone tire themselves out! There's still a lot more festivites to look forward to!"

Maggie was quite sure that she had never hated her husband as much as she did in this instant. The feeling of complete and utter loathing of Adrian Mattias often washed off at the sight of him, but the moment he disappeared from her line of vision thoughts of how she wanted to strangle him for making her go to this party resurfaced. He hadn't made her, she had actually been the one moping about it five minutes before the doors of the club actually were to open and they were already in pajamas because she had definitely not wanted to go.

She was so, so very tired of being pregnant, the emotional roller coaster it often sent her on being exhausting. Maggie knew that Adrian had mentioned the party to think of something fun they could do together, and once he said that this would probably be the last time they would get a chance to go out before they had two children at home, Maggie had nearly splinched herself. It didn't take long for her to get ready, as she had already altered a dress to raise the belt to an empire waist, giving her huge stomach room under the fabric. She supposed she didn't look terrible (Maggie supposed she never did), but she did not feel very good. She was actually quite sore, and the pain shooting out of her lower back was not helping the case. Her shoes had been kicked off and her feet were resting on the chair across the table from her. She looked like a proper slouch, and had no qualms about it.

A smile did light up her face when Adrian returned with his goodies. Maggie enjoyed that he tried so much and she slipped a ring with a mustache on it around her finger. Her thoughts drifted until he questioned where his sister had gone off to. Maggie looked up, not having noticed that Odette had disappeared from her seat beside her. Oh.

"I don't know," she admitted, but not worried. Odette had probably gone home; how she could stand to be out had startled Maggie, but Adrian was rather convincing when he really wanted something. Maggie shrugged, "She'll be fine."

He made an indication of agreement, preoccupied with a pair of sunglasses that had mustaches attached at the bottom. It wasn't until after Adrian had put them on that he could think properly. He supposed, if Odette felt the urge enough to do anything, that was a good thing, yes? He decided yes, and thought no further of it. While he'd admit he was trying his best to help her through.... whatever it was that was going on, she was also an adult, as was he, with other things to tend to.

Like his pregnant wife! Whom Adrian knew was trying very hard to not let her pregnant state get the best of her. He didn't want it to get the better of her, hence the presents. And his undying upbeat attitude. It wasn't even that hard really, Adrian just felt... really happy in his life, finally. Now. He shook his head, shaking himself from his own thoughts.

"Wendy and Tony are successfully out-dancing everyone," Adrian reported, deciding he enjoyed these sunglasses and would keep them on. They didn't make your sight dark--- they were charmed so you could actually see. Brilliant! He slid next to Maggie, and quickly applied a stick-on mustache to her arm. "It's pretty amusing to watch. Not them, but--- everyone else that tries to compete."

Taking a sip of his water, Adrian smiled at Maggie. "I could go get them? They asked where you were."

Maggie's gaze dropped down to the sticker on her arm, then up to Adrian with a smile. All right, all right, it was a fun time, even if she couldn't move much and had to push the table away so that she could properly slouch without her stomach getting caught under the table. Adrian was in a good mood, and he deserved a night out after how miserable she'd been with him. He had the patience of a saint, and she hoped their daughter inherited his temperament and not hers.

"That's all right," she said, not wanting to share Adrian's attention with anyone. Even after her initial annoyance at his public reveal of their marriage, Maggie was finding that she enjoyed being asked about married life and all that came with it. It was a decision they had made on their own, not pressured into because of anything (like this bump of hers); it had just been a beautiful day on the beach and they'd wanted to make the best of it. Josef now had a complete family and her little boy was happier than ever. Really, she should not be able to find a reason to complain about anything in her life.

Of course, she did, but it was mostly pregnancy-related frustrations.

She shifted to sit up a bit, pulling her feet off the chair because the ache in her back had decided to throb. Maggie had been feeling like this since this morning, which had helped her decline again and again the invitation to come to this party, but had decided to ignore it. Now it seemed like sitting too long had caused her back to hurt even more. Maybe she should get up and move around, but dancing seemed like a bit too much. Maggie put her hand on Adrian's leg to push herself up, and just that slight shift caused her to let out a groan.

"Whoa," she said, her other hand shooting to her stomach. That was an all too familiar feeling that she certainly did not want to be feeling in the middle of a club with hundreds of people around them. "I think we need to go," she said quickly.

Adrian was just about to opportunely place another sticker onto Maggie's back (like wings!) when he heard her produce a very not normal sound. A startling one, even! So much so he felt his eyes pop out of his head and his jaw drop. Go? Go now? In the middle of this---

His arms fluttered, feeling unable to move with her grasp still on his leg, but finding it very necessary to sit up and attend to her. After a few delayed seconds, Adrian decided to take Maggie's arm with both his hands, giving one of his own for support and the other to keep a firm hold on her. Finally able to stand up--- their things! Oh well, that wasn't really--- not wanting to worry about anything else, he quickly took out his wand and banished them.

"Okay!" he responded, much louder than necessary. "Okay!" There was not a problem. No problem at all, definitely no problem with their currently location and location within... this current location. There were not hundreds of people with no idea about what was going on. What was going on? That didn't matter! Maggie was holding her stomach and saying she thought they should go, so they would go. Yes!

"Wait!" Adrian stopped helping move Maggie along, finding his sudden thought very pertinent. "But you're not due for two more weeks!" Because that was important information to establish right now.

She had really wanted a nice, calm labor. You know, she would just be conveniently walking by St. Mungo's when her water broke, without much pain shooting through her. A nurse would lead her to her room, Adrian would be by her side in a moment's notice, and then after a few minutes they would have their daughter without breaking a sweat. Of course the simple plan in her head had never been thought to be plausible, but some sort of variant of it had been desperately wished for.

What Maggie had not wanted from her second go at labor was to be in the middle of quite possibly the loudest club in London, with her teammates and opponents all drunk and rowdy wearing ridiculous mustaches and dancing up a storm. At least she looked nice. She would go into labor looking fabulous, which was what really mattered in the end, wasn't it? Merlin's beard, she knew she should not have come tonight! She knew it, she knew it! Maggie's grip on Adrian's arm tightened, her nails digging into his forearm, sure to leave a mark. Why had they stopped? Why had they stopped moving?

Her expression could not be properly read. It was a mixture of so many emotions that Maggie wasn't even sure what she was feeling herself. Confusion? Rage? Worry? Anger? Astonishment? A bit of everything, and it was all directed at her husband, who was seemingly questioning her desire to get out of here and go to the hospital. Her desire. The pregnant one's desire to go to the hospital? Her face boiled a deep, dangerous red, and Maggie was sure that her nails had now pierced the skin of Adrian's arm.

Another pain rattled every bone in her body, letting Maggie know for sure that her instinct had not been wrong. This beautifully stupid husband of hers really needed to stop talking.

"We. Need. To. Go," she commanded through gritted teeth.

Right, that was a dumb question. A stupid question, one that didn't even deserve to be thought, let alone muttered, it wasn't even a question, it was a--- Adrian pulled back his lips to subdue the shot of pain originating from his arm. Nope, nope, even he knew he could not even resemble a hint of pain, or else Maggie would--- kill him. She would actually kill him. Because it was nothing like what she was currently experiencing, he knew, he at least knew that.

"Okay!" Adrian rushed, happy to momentarily turn away from Maggie to let out a painful exhale. Okay! This was not a problem. It was simple! Walking was simple! Arriving at a location was simple! So simple, it---

His wife in obvious pain was distracting! Adrian teetered a bit on his feet, torn between--- well he couldn't just pick her up could he? That would not go over well. And he couldn't--- why couldn't the hospital just be attached next to this building?

"We're leaving!" he said, moving close to her again, placing the better part of his forearm across her back for support. Still keeping his other arm high for her grip, Adrian carefully guided the both of them out of the building completely. Step one, accomplished! Step two...! He swallowed his excited anxiety--- step two was having a baby.
