Axe's Anniversary of Birth!!!!
Charlie was pretty sure he'd missed out on a wonderful career as a party planner. As he stared out at the dance floor, which he stood over on a platform where the DJ was spinning a mix of wizard and muggle music (even with some popular French songs that were actually pretty catchy if Charlie said so himself). He wasn't surprised at how many people showed up, but it still nearly startling to see how bloody happy everyone was to be there! Sure, some looked ridiculous with the fake mustaches that were passed out (not required, obviously), but a lot had actually grown out their beards and it was----cool, they tried, they wanted to be there and they wanted to have a good time. Charlie wanted to have a good time.

The Kestrels were not top of the pack, and while he believed in his team completely, the stress of the numbers had been getting to them. A night like this was necessary, and maybe it could rejuvenate the team that had lost some valuable members this season and had done a bit of shifting around. They were still trying to get themselves into place, and it needed to happen faster than it was.

Plus, Axe had been pissy all week that no one had acknowledged the anniversary of his birth.

Charlie grabbed the mic from the DJ and grinned, enjoying colorful scene laid out in front of him. funkybuddha club had been a perfect choice for the night, "Don't everyone tire themselves out! There's still a lot more festivites to look forward to!"

Zoey liked parties, especially Crazy Kestrel Parties, said with all capitals and should very much be trademarked and they should be making money off of it or something, because there was very much a very big deal about Crazy Kestrel Parties and maybe because this one had non-Kestrels at it, there would be less tattooing but even more fun. Unless there was only tattoos on Axe, which Zoey made a mental note to ask Charlie about. Being the shortest member on the team, and pretty much any team, it made getting around the crowds both a chore and sometimes very easy, ducking under elbows and sliding between people, she followed Joey around until a tray of shiny new drinks appeared, Zoey veered off course straight for it, grabbing one with a broad grin and darting off before anyone could stop her. Even though she was an adult, and could drink all she wanted, Zoey still felt like she was parented by many of the other players and so sneaking drinks was all part of the fun. Until someone tapped her on the shoulder as she took a large sip. She turned with the glass still in her mouth, her eyebrows raising as she lowered the drink and wiped her mouth with her sleeve. "Oh hey! Have you tried this, it's like candy. Delicious alcoholic candy."

The evening had been fairly comfortable for Joey, lots of talking and laughing and catching up with former teammates and the like. He was mid-conversation with their new chaser, discussing the different plays and the best places to hide from Axe...the usual. It took some time before he realized that Zoey had snuck herself off, at which point he excused himself to hunt her down. She kept him from feeling nervous at these things. He excused himself as he ducked through the crowed, trying not to bump into people too much.

He grinned at the sight of her, trying to be as low key about her drinking as possible. He laughed and pulled her closer. "Can't say that I have tried it, no." He kissed her forehead, debating if he should cut loose and grab a drink for himself or not. "I'm glad you're enjoying it though," he added with a grin.
