Delilah tensed up as Rich took another step closer to her. He wasn't listening! The things she was talking about did matter, especially now. This wasn't about them, it was about her and how she felt about herself. She had no idea how to explain other than the words she had just used.
"Your feelings shouldn't hinge on me at all. That-- that will just lead to heart break. I'm not happy Rich, and that has nothing to do with you. You didn't cause it, you can't make it better. I thought you could, I tried but this is not me."
She bit her lip looking away from Rich. Her words felt so cliche, but it was true. It would be cruel for her to let this go on, it would be much worse down the road. "I am so very sorry, but I think it would be best if I go."
